New Rider Intro

Hey MH,

My name is Thomas. Born in Houston but currently in the temple/killeen area. I was referred here by a friend who uses the forum. Taking the MSF course at Awesome Cycles in the beginning of February and hope to join the road soon. I don't have a motorcycle as of yet but I'm looking into 500 cc. More specifically a GS500. Trying to get one used, if anyone has any knowledge of anything, please let me know. I do have prior experience on a motorcycle when I was 15, although I'm 21 now. Any advice on gear or anything newbie-related, I'm all ears. Hope to come back to Houston for local rides when visiting because I love the city! Thanks!

welcome to MotoHouston! when you get here, be careful on the streets, its seriously crazy freeways and drivers here.
Pay attention in the MSF class, you WILL use what you learn riding in this town. Paying attention could save your life. its that serious.

Welcome to the site. My first bike was the GS, and its a great beginner bike. I will however say this, a lot of the GS's have carb problems which cause the bike to not want to idle right. Good luck in your search
