Another Rider Down - Fatal East Belt

Another rider .. similar crash to a member here earlier this year. Hit the curbing on the entrance to the on ramp. Many of the curbs are not painted and at night can not been seen.

It's like we were talking the other day about helmets, she had a helmet ( the passenger ) and he didn't!

Not saying a helmet will save your life for sure but it's gives you a whole lot better chance for survival than not wearing one.

I had a couple cruiser riders looking at me one day at a gas station while we were all getting gas and one of them said, how can you wear a helmet in this heat with heat being the excuse. I looked at them and they were both probably in their late 30's to early 40', I said, when is the last time ya'll checked out a helmet, these newer helmets have a/c so the heat is no problem and they also save lives. They both gave me a dumb a look and said, they really have a/c to which I replied, they sure do and then I drove off leaving them to wonder. I know I could never convince a person that age to wear a helmet if they've never wore one but I did get them thinking about the a/c part so maybe, just maybe they went and looked at helmets and for some unknown reason bought one to use!

It's a choice in some states, you don't have to wear a helmet, that being said, I'll always wear a helmet because I have a daughter I want to see grow up besides a few other things that I would like to do prior to moving into the condo at Forest Park.

Helmets are cool, not wearing one is uncool, that's my take on helmets!

RIP
I can't see how anyone would even consider riding or doing any "extreme" activity without one.

I've seen enough wrecked helmets to know that i don't want my face/head to look like that. Even at legal speeds and "honest" mistakes/conditions.

RIP. Lesson here- helmets save lives. Speaking of- Any of you see this snowboarding crash from earlier today? I was amazed that she got right up and kept going down the hill! Who knows where she'd be if it weren't for that helmet?
