Hey guys well I'm looking into buying my friends 2005 r1 he's laid it down nothing major but I'm having seconds thoughts of wether I should buy it from him or not? Any advice?

If you are serious about buying it, spend a little money and take it to a reputable shop and have them do an inspection of the bike. If there is anything glaringly obvious and major they should be able to tell you. Your friend should not object to this if doesn't have anything to hide.

Thanks brother that's excatly what I'm going to do at first glance it's just fairing damage but I know laying down a bike at any speed can mess something up thanks for the advice

i think the biggest question is the price and condition.. ofcourse u should buy a bike! youre asking a bunch of guys from a bike forum
