not very happy with harley of the woodlands

So I pick up my v&h short shots and breather that has been back ordered twice already today. I get home tear the sporty apart and sure enough they ordered the wrong pipes. Apparently their parts counter guy thought that 2013 and 2014 were the same and didn't bother to make sure. The mounting brackets are different because Harley went to abs brakes on the new bikes.

Its no big deal. They said they will have the right pipes next Thursday. What irritates me is the breather had been back ordered twice I know that's not their fault but hey make a phone call and let your customer know. They also had the pipes in since beginning of last week. I know mistakes are made but jeeze they are a Harley dealership they should know the product they are selling.

+1 It used to be that you could take your vehicle to the dealership and you knew they were all specially trained and would get the job done right. Now it's like you pay the high prices, but still get the half work. If I'm going to have to go back 2-3 times to get the job done right, I'll just take the thing into joe blows shade tree mechanic shop and pay 1/3 of the price.

I do my own work. You would think though ok im ordering my parts at a Harley dealership for a Harley they know what im going to need. The problem was on the new 2014's Harley went to abs brakes so the rear brake has a master cylinder that is in the way of the mounting bracket for the pipes. This was not the case for 2013 and earlier. I will give them this though they offered to pick my bike up and install the pipes for free when they come in. Nice of them but I would still rather do the job myself. I do have to take it to them for a dyno tune when im done. Apparently Harley will void your warranty if you don't have it tuned by a authorized Harley tech.

This has happened too many times to me from motorcycles to auto parts to heavy equipment. I go in with a part number. Then there is no mistakes except my own.

A happy customer is a returning customer. Not that every issue has to end with free ... but I think in this case since they offered labor to put on the pipes...would not be much of a stretch to ask for the tune instead since you want to wrench on the bike yourself.
