you're asking this question and you're trying to move up bikes???

it's a situation on the bike where the bars vibrate back and forth violently at speed. best thing to do is not try tostop them but release pressure from them. remember from msf. a motorcycle is a balanced machine BUT it's when a person gets on it that it is unbalanced.

most of the time it happens on bike with a more aggresive geometry. when the bike sits more on it's nose (front) it's easier to turn (which is what sport bikes are made to do) but it makes the bike more unstable. because it wants to turn instead of jsut going straight.

either way one of these other guys can explain it better than me. I can show you if we're in person but it's hard for me to write out words from my thoughts.

oh i understand what you mean, i just didn't know the terminology. and yes i plan to move up but like i mentioned before, it won't be for another few months. Didn't mean to hi-jack thread but was just wondering what that meant for the zx10r. pretty bike though!!!

tank slappers or head shake........can happen to any bike. steering dampers help reduce it.

Gpr is the ! I run mine on about 4 around town. Didn't realize what I was missing till I got mine on this bike cause my gsxr just had the little stock one on it. Now I won't ride without one if I'm gonna be riding any kind of aggressive. Makes the bike feel so much more stable! I love mine!
