i remember this video however, i don't think that is going to be the case with a sport bike.

this is what i learned from a motorcycle engineer that if you experence a tank slap shift your weight downward on the forks and imediately it will go away...don't let go wof the handle bars completly as that will just cause you to losse total control and some serious consequences can occur...let me find the link that explains all the details and i'll post it up in a sec

just google tank slapping and go thru and read up on it.....it is very helpful info. that we all need to learn also the motorcycle guy said the most important thing to help prevent things like this is to replace your swing arm bushings...that's a very good place to start because they get worn out and we don't realize it cause we just keep riding and riding until....now im not saying that is the only thing but...from his understanding after investigating it that's what he found....hope this was helpful info have your bike checked it worth it to know things things...be safe out there

unless your bike doesnt have the capabilities.. then .. i dont know.. i would say your screwed. i pull the front off the ground.. its hard to tank slap when the front wheel isnt on the ground

haha. we all stopped (besides the people in front of him, they didn't even realize it happened) and made sure he got up and got his bike off the freeway.

we must have been in the triple digits.....i had maybe 2 seconds reaction time when i realized he crashed in front of me.

that's what saved my !!! I had a nasty tank slapper once at a speed I did not want to hit the ground at (well I never want to hit the ground at any speed, but....) I digress, I let go of the bars and straightened right back up, pretty much instantly. I know it doesn't sound like something you want to do when that's going on, but it worked for me.:eh:

Sounds like it may have been my buddy.. he said the pack was flying and as he was passing a car they came over on him, he hit the quarter panel and it flipped him off the bike. He has a 06 blue ZX10, I'll have to see where he wrecked exactly. He is ok, small rash on his back where his jacket rode up and a bit sore.

All I saw were sparks from his bike. THANK there were not a lot of cars coming when he went down. What was his name? And WHERE DID HE GO?!?!?!

When I was walking back to where we had parked he cruised down to an exit and that was it... So just minor scratches on him? What all happened to the bike... I just saw the front was gone. :confused1
