XR50 Motard from Japan

Any one know how i could get one it cost 255,150 yen? Anyone know how much that is and i have a friend that is a dealer at pasadena honda but i need to catch up on bills first. It even has a 5 speed tranny and can be made street legal, I think, either way i still want. Could be my new every day ride!

Yeh, but this one has 5 speed trany and already has lights and everything. i think it would prob cost more if i tried to do that to a crf50 and this bike already has disc front and rear and mag wheels.

Oh and to get a rough estimate just add a decimal point in front of the last 2 digits. The prices will change (but not by much) depending on how strong the yen is that day.

why not just build a street legal fiddy? Why do you need a 5 speed fiddy? Have you considered the reliability of that tranny, and parts availibility? The engagement dogs in that tranny are smaller than those on a 3 speed(they have to fit more gears in the same amount of space!!), and will wear faster depending on use/abuse. I would guesstimate that it will cost you over $3000 to get that bike to the states. If you're willing to drop that kind of coin, why not let me build you a bike?

BTW, I'm not bashing you, that bike is FUGGIN SICK!!!!!!!! Last, if you're going to go through the trouble, just import a KSR110!!!!!!!! Twice the power of a fiddy, and parts availibility is just as good.

are you a dealer and i think i would spend just as much trying to build a fiddy and i want to get a bike that is the same size as a fiddy is this ksr110 the same size? these japanes sites are hard to understand. pluse its a honda so i dont think i would have to worry about reliability.

I sell parts for a living through a dealership, but we can't get our hands on either of these bikes!!! You will have an EXTREMELY hard time finding someone stateside to sell you either of the two mentioned in this thread. The KSR is the same size as a KLX110, but with 12" wheels front and rear. I actually have a KSR110 big bore kit collecting dust in my garage at home, It was going to go into my mini motard, but plans changed. Once i get my 110 plated(if possible), I'll let you know.

I feel you on the honda reliability, but try to follow my logic on the 5 speed here. . .Those honda 50 cases only have so much room for the transmission. You don't machine cases to fit more gears, you machine the gears to fit them in the cases. If your factory gears are 3/4" wide, your 5 speed gears will be 1/2" wide(I'm pulling these numbers out of my BTW). If you turn into mr mini motard and start "backing it in" and jamming through the gears, they WILL break. Just regear the 3 speed and you'll be set.

look at the motor in the pic, it is not a fiddy motor, looks more like a 100. vert cylinder and all. may be a de-tuned 100
