you basically run the same stretch of road I would be doing. I'm going from Almeda Rd. to 290.

have you tried covering up your license plate with any success?

Talk about a scam. They can disable your ez tag and tell you it is not working, make you buy a new one, and still try to make you pay the fines. I bet some pay.

They sure screwed us putting in toll ways. They were suppose to be free once paid for.

I agree. All new roads are toll roads now.

Yeah that's got to be the best advice up to this point by far. Problem is that's the most expensive solution for me because my SV isn't going to wheelie at that speed. I'd have to buy something else/develop some serious skill

no, but I sure thought about tucking it under the seat

I mean, it looks so ugly out there behind the seat...I want people to be able to see my rear tire

Its really not a hard subject, stop using google.

get a tag and drive the tolls if you want, don't worry about cops/fines etc. and enjoy the fact that the toll ways will not catch each time you go through.

Or don't drive the tolls.

Lol at this "how do I steal" thread.

And +1 on wheelie. Yes, your bike will come up at 60 Mph using the clutch.

Oh please...It's still open for the same reason's the lane splitting/ let's all meet up and ride out, arrested fast threads are still open...We're not talking about robbing banks or stealing someone's personal property.

Guys...if it was stealing, they would charge you with petty theft instead of just hitting you up for more money when you get busted...it's all a sham to make more money off something they aren't supposed to be charging for anymore anyways. lighten up.

If there is any crime being committed it's the county that's doing it.

ah so because they steal, it's ok for you to do so...

grow the fuhk up. Unlike the claim "I don't understand why they aren't taking the millions they are making off the toll road to fund expansion projects in areas that are a much bigger problem to the traffic flow in the city. It's a total crock. " They Are/DO....but there's a bit more involved than just slapping down some asphalt/concrete.

I don't agree with the practice of tolling but I'm not deluding myself into thinking it's not theft of service.

Lane Splitting is not stealing. No matter how you spin it.

I used to steal tolls

I actually used to do it for about a year cause I got Fined $500 for $30 worth of tolls that went unaddressed becuase my credit card got stolen and i forgot to give them the new card number. Went to court and plead my case, but no bones.

Anyways, no matter how much i'd lke to ride the line now, it's still stealin'.

Lane splittin and stealin? haha.

I don't think one of the ten commandments is "Thou shall not Lane Split"

I'm not stealing anything. I'm THINKING about finding a way to prevent them from continuing to rape me for 10 dollars a day to drive on a road that was promised to have been a free road years ago. They are charging over a dollar about every ten or so miles for NOTHING. Riding on a road that was paid for a long time ago. You've got it twisted big time. I'm not the crook, the county is.

Again, if they were using the money to expand/improve other roads in the city that's one thing, but they aren't. They just got done adding a lane way out here in BFE where there was no traffic to begin with, then they installed additional toll booths, made the toll booths that were already there "EZ tag only"(so much for creating jobs)...then they increased the rate by 25 cents for the second time in two years.

Quote:

Since You're an expert can explain this scenario for me? They had literally hundreds of workers with all kinds of equipment and they expanded the entire SW section of the beltway by 1 lane and built multiple toll plaza's 100% complete with higher tolls in just over a month. All without even discussing it from what I've seen. No talks of "lack of funding" or any of that nonsense. They had an massive budget to knock those new toll booths out in no time.

Switch over to 290, which is one of the heaviest traffic areas in the city and they have been talking about where they're going to get funding from and what to do for over 6 years now...so far they have added a merge lane that's about less than a mile long from where BW8 meets 290 to Jones rd.(go figure it's near the toll road)
Their other grand idea is to start charging five freaking dollars to use the HOV lane, so now you get to sit in traffic on the HOV lane too, while they make a killing.
What's in the works now? The hempstead toll road.

How long has BW8 been paid for and the best thing they can come up with is more toll roads that aren't actually helping the traffic flow on 290?

Sure I agree to pay the toll by getting on the road, then by running it I went back on my agreement...No different than telling everyone in the whole city that they will lift the toll once it's paid for and instead of doing that, they just keep increasing the toll. Do two wrongs make a right? Nope and I really don't care if it's right in some peoples eyes or not. Do I feel the least bit bad about stealing from the HCTRA? Not at all. Would I take one penny from a regular person or a company that is doing honest business? absolutely not. Start commuting on the toll road and paying 10 dollars a day to ride on a road that's been paid for years ago and see how you feel about it. Pay the county almost three grand a year only to watch them keep increasing the toll. Then, try an alternate route and see how screwed up every other road in the city is compared to it due to "lack of funding". It's a joke.

Call me a thief, but I'm not giving one more dime to these idiots than I have to.
At any rate, I'll probably just take 610 and avoid the hassle of trying to get around paying tolls. They don't get any money from me, I'm not doing anything wrong. It's a win win except it takes forever to get home that way.

By the way, you should photoshop your avatar so he's holding a sign that says "pay toll" like one of those trolls that charge to cross a bridge.

You missed the point completely. The point wasn't that it's the same thing as stealing. The point is it's illegal just the same and likely carries a much stiffer penalty if they decide to ticket you for it. Speeding at 20+ over definitely carries a stiffer penalty. Obviously the state considers that a bigger deal than not paying tolls.

Why don't you guys just crucify me for my crimes I haven't even committed yet?

Thou shalt not lane split? I'm more or a code of hammurabi guy than a ten commandments guy. I believe in a tooth for a tooth and eye for an eye...and based off of that, I would have to steal thousands from the county to catch up to what they have gotten out of me.
