So I get my EZ tag in the mail today...it's this hideous white box with velcro on it.
It comes with illustrated instructions saying to mount the velcro box onto the "top center" of your windshield. Your bike must be equipped with a windshield and it will read easily from this position.

Are these on crack? Who is going to put that ugly where everyone can see it.

If these send me violations because the EZ tag isn't reading, I'm going to run enough tolls to make up for my fifteen dollars to buy this piece of and I'm not paying their violations.

If it doesn't pick up from the box, I'm pretty sure if they can read your plate from the camera, they will just bill your account for the tolls that you go through. No violation charge, just normal toll fee. Call them to verify.

You're not supposed to mount it on your bike. I keep mine in the tail

Because many motorcycles do not have windshields and because the stickers can not withstand elements like wind and rain, motorcycles must continue to use the special hard case tag.

When I get home I'll take a picture of their illustrated instructions and post it. I'm thinking this is a new thing they are asking people to do.

The instructions clearly state that your bike MUST have a wind shield and it needs to be stuck to the "top center" of it.

Maybe they're sick of people who are "avoiding detection"

I realize their website says otherwise, which also adds to how I got. They don't send you instructions saying you MUST have a wind shield and mount it on there until AFTER you pay them for the device.

It is new because I got mine at the EZTag store and there were no instructions

Yeah it's this super cheesy hand drawn picture of an late 80's-early 90's looking sport bike. There is an arrow pointing to the top of the wind shield saying to mount it there.

The instructions say your bike must be equipped with a wind shield and when you mount it there, it will be easily detected.

If I get pulled over and they ask I'm going to be like "what instructions? You guys need to get your together and make sure you're getting these instructions out to everyone"

OK shellnut. I'll tell you how to get Free Tolls legally.

Ride your bike and go to the Exact Change Lane. Put your bike on the kickstand and collect $1.75 which you WILL find on the ground.

I don't consider it stealing cuase its finders keepers. I know when driving i usually throw in too much cause i miss.

There. Close thread.

The ez tag they sent me for my bike was the normal tinny sticker like I have in my truck.

I just put it in my wallet, which come to think of it was a terrible idea. Need to check and see if I have been getting double charged every time I go through in my truck now lmao.

Lady at HCTRA told me to place box in my jacket pocket..that worked fine.

I now have added strong magnets to the velcro and just place the hideous box over my gas cap and it sticks with magnets to my tank. When I leave my bike, I pop it into my jacket.
Easy-peasy

I think that would people off a lot more than me riding the center line. Plus it's too much like work.

Also, this thread will never die bwahaha...I'll also never hear the end of it.
