I'd like to go. It would be my first group ride. Just curious; what would you consider a "moderate pace"? If I go, I don't want to be slowing everyone down.

I would also be interested in seeing the route info if you have it.

Noob ride should be noob pace...just sayin...moderate pace can be very misleading.

some good info here..

Not set in stone but a good starting point for ride leaders.

I've read the thread but I am still on the fence. According to the article, as a "N00B" I should stay away from "moderate, fast, spirited, ect." rides. As Roykoson points out; "moderate" seems to be a little open for interpretation and misleading, especially since the ride is posted as a N00B ride.

Anyways, I guess what I'm getting at...and not to sound like a pansy, but how fast is this ride going to be? I'm comfortable going slightly over the speed limit around turns, but not by much...especially going through S curves and that sort of thing. Are we going to be just cruising or pushing it a little?

I just don't want to get into a situation where I am in over my head and out in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of more experienced riders that are expecting me to keep pace. The same thing happened to me as a teen offroad and I ended up breaking my femur, so that is why I'm a little timid about jumping into a group ride so soon.

This is a noob ride. I'd say in the neighborhood of 10 over max. Yes I agree by me posting moderate is a tad misleading but I tell you that this is in no way a borc ride. We are just gonna go at a casual pace. I know how it feels to ride with borc guys and get left in the dust but also a good sweeper leaves no man behind. So join us and come have some fun there's no pressure to be a superman or speed freak on this ride. It's the holidays and we want everyone to make it home safe and sound. Hope to see you out there.

I seriously doubt this will be a moderate pace ride. I think it will be a nice casual pace. It wouldn't be a bad idea to ride in the back in front of the sweeper. No one will push you and you can ride at a pace your comfortable with and there is never any pressure to keep up and you will never be left behind.

Blamdiggity: I can sweep this ride if you don't have anyone else to do it.

Hey guys this ride sounds like one I may join. I'm a noob also, only 4 months riding and will be my first group ride. I'm imterested in the route you will be taking. Would be about a 45 minute ride just to the meet spot for me if I was to make it.

It's worth the ride... It's a route through waller county into MOCO back into Harris, plenty of noob capable twisties and fun straights. Should I add you to the list?
