I've owned both. If you are ready for the power and weight, and both bikes are in reasonably good shape, this would be a good way for you to move up.

The SV is a great bike. You could take it to track days or ride it cross country. Can't really advise either on the 250, even though it is a great bike in its own right.

The 650 will be fuel injected, unlike your 250 as we'll. no more carb cleaning when you can't ride for a month.

That's an awesome trade, and the SV is an awesome bike. If you plan to go through with it just make sure you know what to look for on a bike. Personally I feel like its almost to good to be true so if I was you I would have the bike checked out.

sv650 is probably one of the best bikes per money. They are a great value.

I've got an '05 sv650. With your cbr, and the sv, your going to have a pretty well rounded collection. I'm thinking about getting a 600cc and keeping the sv as a commuter/maybe eventually track bike.

Yes, another for the SV crew. mine has been solid, i got mine @ 750mi it now has 32000mi on it, without anything but brakes, chains, sprockets, tires. (+valve adjustment)

but its a high quality low maintenance bike with a v-twin. i doubt i'll ever sell mine.

Post pics already otherwise... pics or it never happened.

I like this SV ride idea, create a date and lets see the turn out.

My SV is great, the motor blew but that was due to the previous owners I guess it out. Only neglecting I did was on the back brake but got it also nice and neat now. It's a fun bike and I have thoughts of selling it here and there but doubt I ever will unless I really need cash.

If you are staying on the street, just add gas and go.

If you want to faster:

M4 full exhaust with K&N.
Tank spacers (lifts the tank and acts as an almost ram air).
Race Tech emulators or Sonic springs up front.
Penske, Ohlins, or Fox shock in the rear.
Steel braided brake lines with EBC or Vesrah pads.

If you want to go even faster:

Cam swap
Valve springs
Lightened flywheel (which may mean total loss system)
Slipper clutch
Thin head gasket.

If you want to go even fasterer....I will stop now

Don't go too crazy or you will end up with a $10000 SV that will be worth $2500.
