Yep, I heard 40w and 60w incandescent will be banned beginning of the year. Didn't hear about the surcharge. I've heard of people buying 91 bulbs for 93$ shipped, I wonder what the surcharge is going to be and if it will be "per bulb".

They have my business. I have changed more flouresents in my house ( kitchen lights ) then any other bulb. But yet the old style bulbs last 10X longer for me. I have fans in my house with 11 year old bulbs....

I hate the CF bulbs. In reading around online it appears that it's the internal ballast that usually goes out and the best way to get long life out of the bulb is to just leave them on constantly rather than turn them on/off. Seems counter-intuitive for something that's supposed to save electricity (not to mention all the environmentally harmful materials in them).
