forum etiquette question

was wondering what the rule of thumb is for something like this-

helped out a MH rider that i had never met, he needed some help with the ecu. i have same make/model of bike and offered to check it on my bike. he brought it over, and it worked. problem wasn't ecu but was electronic so i loaned him my manual because it had schematics in it. this was in september, and i need my manual back...some PMs and months later and still no word. i dont know how else to contact him. he's still an active member but not responding to PMs.

do i say the name nicely and see if anyone can help me locate him, or do i just call it a loss and start the badmouthing?

Stop being too nice and call him out. You've tried numerous times so say who it is. I'm sure other people on here would probably know him and help you out.

ok, mob rules.

on MH he goes by 'cobrakiller02' in katy, if anyone knows him i'd appreciate it if you told him i need my manual back. otherwise add his name to the wall of shame and don't do him any favors.

this is NOT indicative of my experience with MH peeps, ive gotten so much help and info from everyone here. this is a great forum and i like to see it keep going with people helping each other out and enjoying the whole riding experience.

thanks all.

Why didn't you get his number? I'm just curious. All the members I've helped out, I've always exchanged numbers so I could keep in contact. I'm in no way putting any blame on the OP, just curious.

I worked for them for a couple years. I painted that whole place, built the walls, moved everything in, turned wrenches, sold parts. I did everything for those suckers. It went to when they brought there son in to run the place. He didnt know one thing about a bike. He use to work at discount tire and they brought him in to run the whole store. lmao..they would promise us all this bullshit but it was just one lie after another. I dont feel bad for wayne or patty. They both can suck my "

So he has too many bikes to list, worked for Katy Yamaha for a couple of years, and needed to borrow your manual?

Sorry OP, I think you fell victom to shenanigans.

after you left your computer, this situation no longer has anything to do with the forums.

If you've been over to his house before, then go back and get your book.

If he came to yours and hasnt been back since you may have to chock it up to kind heartedness, and maybe help others but dont give them everything you've got.

Aesop's fable of the Horse hunter & Stag sums this up nicely: http://www.aesopfables.com/cgi/aesop...eHunterandStag

yeah, it sucks....a few years back someone contacted me via MH about some zx7 carbs I had off an old motor....I was out of town at the time and I had my roommate gather them and leave them out for him....he said he'd send me $50 or $100 or something.....never saw a dime and never heard back from him. Wish I had kept his username.

I gave a dog away, the new owner said I could let my kids come see it later.

He dissappeared and quit answering his phone/text.

Still wonder what happened to that dog.

So I'd think he could handle coughing up the dough for a replacement manual if he lost/trashed/still needed yours.
