i see i see....

but how would you get the graphic to match the rest of the helmet???

it seems like the whole helmet would have to be a graphic then to match up correctly....

no....as I said earlier.....paint the helmet to match the graphic. Look at the colors...they're close, but not exact.

The vinyl is painted at the same time as the helmet.

With the backing sheet still attached, the vinyl is cut to size and temporarily adhered to the visor. The whole thing gets painted, then the vinyl backing is removed and the vinyl stuck to a clear visor. The holes are not filled with paint because the artist has been careful not to build up a thick layer while doing the work.

The reason the colors are very close but not exact is because the base color/material is different between the helmet and the vinyl material. Both are white, but they accept paint differntly and the sunlight reflects off them differently.

The one's I'm talking about is printed full color on a sheeting of perforated vinyl.....no reason why you couldn't airbrush the same thing, but it'd have to be some type of flexible paint otherwise I expect it would crack when you apply it to a curved surface.

I don't like all the skulls. The dragon one reminds me of Shenron from Dragonball Z hahaha.

The idea is cool but to me those helmets look like something out of a bad '80s sci-fi movie.
A skull would be cool or maybe a wild looking face or insane clown kinda thing.
