Eh.. there is error on both parties. Should have been better traffic control. Should have been a bit of common sense on the motorcyclist behalf to recognize a towtuck and a truck in a ditch = something to be wary of

And the spotter guy just standing there watching the tow truck and not looking for traffic. Then everyone casually walks away.

As much as I hate to see a rider get taken out that way and I agree the road should have been blocked off... the dude flew into the "trap" at quite a healthy pace. Now if you see a guy standing in the middle of the road, with all that commotion going around around him, shouldn't you at least slow down a few clicks... just to be on the safe side?

May be I'm completely off base, and that's just how they ride in Brasil.

Please don't. When I use to leave in Brazil (Belo Horizonte) I was all about the trails. I remember hearing about a case of a friend of a friend who died because the owner of the property got annoyed of us passing thru his property and instead putting a sing or fencing the entire property he decided to place (1) barbed wire cable at the neck level... Well long history short the guy bled to death and the owner in jail for a long time :(
Be aware out there. (we can't fix stupid)
