GSS offer-did you get this POS too?

How many of you guys got the email from GSS?
Are you kidding me?
Turned it into a members only track, where you pay $3500 a year and get 40 SCHEDULED days to share the track with cars....
since it was hard to trust what they have told us in the past how can this POS deal get any worse?

Last ditch effort? Maybe the dumb owner will realize he's the problem, nah never mind. That's actually not a bad deal at 87.50/day if they do cars on/bikes on, problem would be getting your $ back if he goes belly up.

If it was reliable, guaranteed, or pay as you go/monthly i'd be in if I had a bike. Still my favorite track hands down.

that is what the email said, no more grove union, which is what the trackday org used as a name when they ran it themselves (ha ha)
I do not know what the situation with FL and them was going to be last year...and i did not think he was going to let Tim back on the property. The last FL event there last year, Tim could not be present. (if my memory serves me right)

Ya I got it. That's ridiculous. I don't see why so many of y'all love that track. It's tiny, the facility is horrible, I just don't like it. I'd ride it again if I could of course but it's no big loss. Best thing was it was cheap and close.

Word is FastLine may be doing some days there next season. If that's the case I may have to turn some laps out there or high water, and conquer that track.

I love that track.
I actually responded to the email and told them that they would not likely sell yearly memberships to the bike riders as the trust factor was not there... I told them they would have better luck posting the dates and have a pay by day event...
to my surprise, I got an answer to that email... and it was polite...though noncommital.

SUPER smooth....easy on tires, oh, and the best part...you don't have to wring out 5th and 6th gear in between corners. That's why I enjoyed it so much anyhow.

I will always have a soft spot for gss being the 1st track I got on.

I just hope everything goes good and we get to ride it next year.

Last I heard (Sunday) FastLine has 6 dates at GSS lined up in 2014. To the best of my knowledge, there are no bans on anyone associated with FastLine still in effect. Groove Union was a temporary joint venture between the track owner and the now Fastline crew. It went south quickly and was dissolved. Fastline ran there in 2011 / 12, IIRC, but decided not to go there this year due to difficulties ironing out contract details. Since GSS has utterly failed at bringing in a replacement trackday provider, my guess is they are open to taking Fastline's money for rentals again. True, trust is low, but we all love to ride that track....even "Fluffers".

As far as the email, any racetrack that is a membership type facility will take your money if you are willing to give it to them. Trust is key. I'd be hesitant to pay the $2 for a copy of the key to the front gate if they told me I could ride for free tomorrow. Hopefully that will change this coming year for the better.

What, you don't like cows, tall grass, porta potties, and air conditioned mobile home classrooms? SNOB!

Cheap, close, fun, smooth, easy to run safely and smoothly, low speeds, 250's are a blast there, bikini week at twin peaks on the way home, paved runoff, ample parking....what's not to love?

true the email did not say that there would be no other events, it just said that there would no longer be a grove union and that paid members would have 40 scheduled days for their use. they have to be using the rest of the year to try and do business with non-members and raise money...I just do not trust them enough to pay for a years membership in advance...
