Buck usually sets a 25 rider limit and they all run simultaneously.

Any chance Buck can jump in here and tell us what's in store if we can get the attendance up?

It may or may not come automatically for you but don't worry. Keep trying. No need to be discouraged because you feel slow. You have to start out slow in order to go fast one day.

Candy is a great example for anyone who isn't sure about this. She was out there Saturday riding her own pace with an instructor following her most of the day and because she used her head, she didn't go down. Ride within your limits and you'll be fine.
I noticed that the faster riders were quite respectful when passing RRChic on Saturday, either on the straights or going into the corners. They probably knew that she was the only female out there and was fairly new to track days. To her credit, she held her lines and her pace and picking up speed throughout the day.

So an all-female track day should be an excellent opportunity for those women who are otherwise apprehensive about getting on a track with a large group of "testosterone-laden" riders. It just provides that much more of a less-stressful and inclusive environment in which to ride.

Most importantly, you can unlearn a lot of bad street-riding habits in only a couple of track days.

It's much less traffic than Ride Smart or LS days that I've seen, plus we'd be spread out since we don't start on a grid.

Not really, there were some races @ TWS (Texas World Speedway) on Sunday that had 50 riders on the grid.

It's good to know where you speak from before you post..........

As was posted several weeks ago, YES THERE IS AMBULANCE SERVICE AT ALL FUTURE LMS EVENTS.
As for the all girls day, this will be something seperate from the posted schedule. The date is open for discussion with Carbon 1/2 when she gets her group together. Weekday, weekend, Sat/Sun, I'm open really. I want YOUR day to be special. :icon_smil

agreed!

I honestly cannot see a downside to any of the ladies attending this or any track day. Others have said it but I'll say it again, if you ride on the street you are taking more risks than if you ride on the track as long as you ride within your limits.

Come on out and meet a few locals - we gather at Doubleshots on Monday night around 8pm - West Airport just west of Eldridge.

3 years?

Don't be scared to come out to any track day. Just post up in the Racers Lounge that you are new and want to try out some track. There are plenty of us that are more then willing to help out any way we can.

Thanks! All the guys were AWESOME!! I can't remember one time that I felt spooked or crowed! That being said, I hope I didn't get in the way to much and slow you all down!!! Having ridden on a newbie day and on a regular day, I have to say that I felt safer on the regular day with the experienced riders! I had so much fun that I can hardly wait to get back out there on May 12th!

You might want to consider cornerworking at a track day. It'll help you get a better idea of what goes on at the track and what safety precautions are in place before you decide to go at it yourself.

i've done corner working a few times. i lived in college station for 3 years and i had a few friends that raced. i'm pretty familiar (as familiar as one can be without actually riding it) with TWS (Texas World Speedway). i think that doing my first track day with a bunch of girls would be pretty cool!
