I started on a Ninja, and the first thing I wanted to do is take her to a trackday. I had less than 100 miles experience and a friend and mentor of mine told me that I probably need a bit more parking lot riding :laughing6

After that, I ended up selling her with 4000 miles more but without a trackday. I really regret that now. MSR-H would've been a blast on the 250.

Now I just have to wait for a newbie day. I figure the best way to learn how to corner is on a track where it's controlled and safer than some road out in the boonies.

I'll be sure to bring my clown suit.

No need to wait. register at the next "school"/track day event and go for the beginner class. It's the most fun you'll have with your clothes on:icon_bigg

Post up in the Racers Lounge when you plan on going and I am sure there will be plenty of people from here more than willing to help you out.

My budy brings a 125 2 stroke out that he used to race. The only one that laughs is him when he smokes the 600's and 1000's in the turns. Take it you'll have fun

Dude,

Last RideSmart track day i took my 50 out there!

Every body was laughing and me in the beginning, that i still rode her, as the rain started to pour, i was actully passing guys on SS 600cc bikes almost every turn!

I had a good laugh at them after wards.

Oh yea, i still rode it till it ran out of gas - being that it is a Honda, while all the others just left or watched.

So don't be ashamed of your 250, bring it out and have a blast. Go on the CMRA website, some guys on Ninja 250s are running faster lap times then most people here on 600s/750s/1000s.

Hahaha, I will laugh at you until you let me ride it.

Doesn't matter what you have, I have seen cruiser, goldwing, motard, 250's, all kinds of bikes out there having fun learning. Peoples at the track are cool, they will help you almost anything. They help you load or unload, fix your bike if you have questions or problems, help you with track prep. It's out there just don't be shy and ask.

Actually, you just gave me one of an idea. That would be more fun than anything out there. Anyone got a beat to ninja 250 they want to get rid of.

Your best bet would be to rent your gear the first time out. This way you get fitted properly and if you don't exactly like the track you are not out of alot of money and time but if you like the track you can put your rental fee towards the gear. Which is always top notch stuff.

I think that he should use that money on renting towards a Fieldsheer suit that's selling for $300. When he gets better and faster, he can buy a better suit.

I wouldn't even make fun of you if you took a 600 and went slower then a ninja 250. Sunday one was going around 2:10. That is very good for an ex 250 and not too bad for a newbe on a 6.

I went to the 4/14 MSRH trackday to watch some friends ride and a bunch of the people there told me that I should get my 500 out on the track. If a 500 can play with the big boys, why not a 250? Honestly, you should give it a shot!
