Well The front axel and spacers are so ugly on my USD convirsion I wanted to make some aluminum sleeves to go over them. I had to make one with a 1/16" spacer to move the wheel to be truely in the center of both forks. I went to put the fork guards on and noticed the tire was 1/8" closer to one fork than the other.
I machined these sleeves last night with just a slight fit of .005 touching the end of the bearing seals to keep water out. Im just not sure if when the wheel and seals spin will the seals heat up enought against these to cause a problem even if I put a slight coat of grease in between?? The aluminum sleeve does have a .020 lip but do not touch the wheel hub. There is .003 space in between. I might have to make the spacers and sleeves all in one so they press against the outside of the inner race.
I did machine the lip/hub off that inner spacer so the axle and spacer are the same OD.

Ride your XR650L and stop at the car wash to pressure wash after the ride. You probably get more salt in the Galveston air than would be on the bike after washing.
