09 zx6r starts but will not run.

Bike has been running fine since I got it but all of a sudden it will not run. I started her and let her warm up this morning came back 5 min later and the gauge cluster was blank. I turn her off and try to re-start her and all I got was the quick buzzing sound(I think from a solenoid opening and closing). Put her in the garage and put on the battery tender for 20 min, come back out and she fired right up. Got out of my neighbor hood to a "major" street and then my gauges went dark again and then the bike sputtered then died.
I know a few days ago i noticed that when i hit the throttle the lights would get brighter until i let off. So i don't know if that any indication of anything bad or if that natural. I checked the ground and it seems solid, and right now im charging the battery. Because the battery is taking longer than usual to charge im assuming it was completely dead leading me to believe that it was not getting charged while the bike is running. So im thinking its the stator or the rectifier/regulator. I know this year kawi had a recall on the rectifiers and i think my bike got it replaced by kawi during that time, so i don't know if it could have burned out so soon. The red FI light goes off once the bike is on, so i don't believe im getting a code.

My bikes my only transportation so really need the problem fixed asap, any help would be appreciated.

Additional info:
Bike has 14k miles
oil/oil filter changed ever 5k miles
Only mod is a slip on
Just replaced air filter

rip ur stator.
before u replace it though test it to know for sure don't need to be throwing money at the wrong problem.
using a multimeter hook it to the battery and start the bike if it reads over 14 volts stator is good rev it some to make sure the voltage doesn't go to high like over 15 volts. battery should be close to 12.5 volts when just siting more volts is ok good luck

http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/elect...e-13196750.jpg what a multimeter looks like a cheap one from harbor freight or lowes should be ok
oh and have the multimeter set to the 20 volt setting

either battery going bad or your regulator/rectifier is going out again. I dont think the Tip over sensor would cause this but check to make sure it's hooked up properly.

I went through something simular. My problem was acouple wires rubbed together and the outside cladding wore off and caused both bare wires to touch causing a short. And that caused my rectafire plug to fry. So I took off all fairings found the short. Fixed it then fixed the rectafire plug and got a new battery. Now works great. Hope that helps

Either the battery is no longer good or the charging system is not putting out.
If you can bring the battery buy I can charge it/test it, free.
Once you've established you have a good battery I can walk you through testing your charging sustem.

Even if i got a meter, would not even know where to hook it up to or how to use it.

The battery has been good up until this point, It always started first time every time. Wouldent there have been more of a "warning" that the battery was dying by having more trouble starting? also do you know where the tip sensor is on my bike?

So is that a good thing or a bad thing?
never had a problem with fueling and the bike would still turn over even if it was a fuel problem right?

Also is it possible for the bike to run completely off the battery?
only for a very short time then it will die again.
a multimeter is very easy to use and cost like 15$ just touch the black probe to the negative(black) terminal (the metal thing sticking out of the battery) and red probe to red terminal. have to multimeter on and in 20 volt seting it will tell u the volts the battery has start the bike and just check to see if its got the right numbers
I could do it in like 5 minutes simple stuff u can do it
I can come by to show u how if ud like we both live in spring

Charger said battery was charged and bike started up fine, rode it around my neighborhood and it seemed fine. So if it is the battery not keeping a charge then why would the bike just die? Once a bike is on,the stator should keep the bike running right? Im under the impression that the battery pretty much just starts the bike, but is not need to keep it running.

Stator is kaput then

And yes the battery runs the show when the engine is off but when the engine is on the stator should take over but if the stator is broken the battery will run things untill its drained to far. Then as u know the bike dies
