I did that. Not near as bad as yours, but thought I was invincible as a teenager and I hopped on a friend's bike and lowsided. Slid into the curb about 40 mph and ruined the right side of my body and collapsed my lung.

Ditch the sport bike. Get a dual sport like a DRZ or a small bore naked bike like an SV. They don't mask there speed like a sport bike and aren't so twitchy. Secondly, don't even bother going on these group rides for a while. Don't even ride with strangers. Take off on your own and ride your own ride. That way you aren't worried about keeping up with others. You shouldn't be worrying about anything, just go out and have fun.

"Throughout" is different than entry. You can scrub speed after you tip in, which I'm pretty sure is a common practice. I'd say you're right about the speed in the middle. Also remember that bike speedometers read about 9% higher than actual speed from the factory. Drop teeth in the front and/or add teeth to the rear without a speedo healer and the speedometer can easily be over 20% off. With that in mind, 130mph entry speed is really only 104mph. Scrubbing speed from there will get you down into the 80's until exit.

Ya, I haven't been on the track since September. Gonna try to make TWS (Texas World Speedway) at the end of the month and MSRH in December. We'll see, work has been owning me lately.

pretty much like pinball said entry speed and throughout is 2 different things bud i never claimed i'm exiting at 120mph. i used to have a 09R6r which i personally flashed my ecu inside the ecu you can do the speedo correction to calibrate for the sprockets i ran at each track. i would tip in for carosel around 130-135 top of 4th gear and not touch brakes and scrub speed throughout the turn exiting around 85mph according to the speedo when flipping it right in Joe Bone. so is my speedo with the correction 100% gps accurate probably not but was it pretty close probably.

so u-mary or whatever your name is take your trolling self onto another topic where you actually matter.

back to the OP before this nice guys thread gets closed.

you stated it right here saying you were doing 120 halfway through. you were doing about 80 maybe if youre lucky. probably 60-70 with what you have posted on your times. no where near 120.

im not trolling you just post a lot of BS, even on other forums.

Maybe doing 120 in an 80 was the cause of the getoff.

You could get some grey gasket maker from the store. Works pretty well. And its a super noob ride, you should be fine. There are going to be some more experienced riders helping with the ride.

Hey, it's been awhile, looking forward to ride with you again....BOrc ride on dec 1st...

2 years riding with 20k miles of seat time under my belt. 2 wrecks, both single vehicle accidents. Both my fault, and I haven't made either mistake since each wreck. Both happened after I took the msf. It is safe to say that I'm still a noob. I still own my first bike.

1st wreck, was right outside my apartment where there was some light construction going on. Slowed down too quickly on the sandy and gravely area and washed out the front. I was doing maybe 20 - 30 mph. That one hurt pretty good. Wasn't paying attention.

2nd wreck, was on a group ride with jimrad, fastola, and company, riding outside of my ability without knowing it. I'll tell you that before I went down, I was (and still am) totally comfortable with the faster pace that we were going. That wreck was a combination of bad body position, a fast wet corner, and being a tad optimistic on the throttle. That one hurt even more. You could probably learn from that one as it sounds slightly similar to yours. PM jimrad for the link to that video.

I think the reason people are giving you a hard time is the attitude you have about the whole thing. I took things a bit differently and obsessed about what I did wrong, and became overly cautious with my riding. It took months and months before I went on a spirited ride again. I eased back into it, checked my pride at the door and asked questions, rode my own ride, and when I saw or felt something I didn't like I backed off my limits until things jived again. And you know what? I think I'm a better rider because of it.

Riding how we ride, we're gonna go down at some time or another, you're gonna have to accept that. Don't be fazed by the guys that have had 0 wrecks, or one accident in like 10+ years. They aren't you. Instead, you should pay attention to their riding and figure out why they don't wreck. You'll be amazed by the things you can learn when you just start paying attention. Don't focus on being fast right now. Focus on technique and strategies, and you'll find that being fast finds you.
