Yes, they both ride equally comfy on the back of a truck/trailer.....

I took it to MSR-H and it did great on the track with the addition of a GSXR750 rear shock. Needs rearsets and clip ons (both on the way) to have any chance at turning hard, and it needs a set of DOT race tires. Springs and emulators in the forks, and a pipe and tuner and it would be good for a 1:50 or so lap.

On the mini course the 500 ran sub 1:08's, so it would have beat the fastest race prepped Ninja 250 from last year's CMRA endurance (1:095 or so) by a couple of seconds.

What was most amazing is how I rode it every lightweight session (8) and half of the intermediate (4), and Kris ran it in a couple of sessions (2) as well - 14 sessions = 2.3 miles * 14 sessions * ~7 laps = 200+ miles ....all on ONE tank of 87.

Are there any 500r groups in Houston?

Welcome!

I've only seen a handful around town so I wouldn't say a group all together

Dude, none of Us here are as avant-garde as you are. After graduating noob's class, we all suffer from post-noobrum syndrome. Common symptoms are: everything in life is related to anything in riding or motorcycle. We suffer from cognition deficit in anything else in life. So, if you throw us a word we don't understand, we will look at Racer's handbook or motorycle manual.
Rykoson is one of the most respected persons in the community in organizing noob's ride and helping noobs. Stay in touch with him. He is a great guy.

Haha, for the record, "AE" as referenced here was referring to an "alter ego", not an uncommon thing to occur with some of the more "active" forum members either temporarily banned on their normal account, or just otherwise looking to stir up .

Sent you a PM about a meet on the north(ish) side this evening, if you're interested.

that wasn't for you, that was for OP (assuming he isn't an AE, but I'll give him benefit of doubt)... I assumed that anyone who's been on the forum for more than a few weeks was familiar with the term.

No groups. Looks like me, you, and cbr500mike that I know of on the board. I saw your bike at Underdogs with the LED's. Looks sharp.

I took my 500 to Kpop on Jan 1 and did about 60 miles around town and in the rain. It's amazing how it disappears from under you on the highway...no vibration, no exhaust note, nothing to let you know you are screaming along at 6000 rpms. Did well in the rain too.

Look for me at the Feb meet.

I've seen your problem. It's not such a problem since you have space. I'm working on space issues right now.
