Husqvarna 532cc big bore build

Been slow in this section for a while. Thought I would share my latest project. Been waiting for a 530 big bore kit for my 08 510 SMR for a LONG time. Husky has been thrown around like a Korean hooker lately so there was a lapse in parts availability for much of the year. Bike has 7,500 miles on it and rebuild is recommended at 6,200 miles so decided to go ahead and get it done. Finally, got my hands on an OEM 530cc big bore kit. Bike is a 501cc and kit is a 532cc so it's quite an increase. Had EBR Performance put the kit in along with a bottom end rebuild with new bearings, seal, and a Pro X rod kit. Head looked perfect and so did the old cylinder. Not bad for 300 hours. Granted I don't race the bike but I'm not exactly tiptoeing through the tulips with it either. Now if they could only get their fuel injection to be as reliable.

Got the motor put back in over the weekend and have been riding it a little over the last couple days. It's a beast now. Huge increase in midrange power. Third gear picks up the front end with a little crack of the throttle. Yank on the bars and whack the throttle in fourth gear and up it comes. Pretty nice with 14/42 gearing. Had it dynoed prior to tear down and it produced 50hp and 35 lb/ft of torque. Hoping for 58ish and 40ish for the new numbers. Will post the before and after dyno graph next week.

Maybe a Euro Bike Night is in order to properly break it in, followed by some beers.
