Medical Coverage / Long Term Disability

Does anyone buy this stuff? I have 500k Medical insurance stacked on top of my Vehicle Medical and my work medical. This includes accidental dismemberment for each limb is eligible for 500k. Plus I stacked 80% Long Term disability which goes for a few years.

All these crash and benefit posts freaked me out. I calculated and all this cost me $12 extra month, man working for big oil sure is worth it.

Anyone else paranoid like me?

Not many people buy it. Mostly people that have extra cash laying around.

I have it, when I got hit by an 18-wheeler in '06 and couldn't work for five months it was a life saver. Worth every penny, especially for $12/month. Hope you never use it, but you can keep your head above water if you do.

yeah; but more so to take care of my wife if I die. Don't want her to worry about anything for a while after I am gone! Anyone that rides and partciptes in activities where you can get FUBAR should have them.

Im a firm believer that if you can not sustain your bills for an extended period of time for youself and your family, it would be irresponsible to ride without as much disability as you can afford. It could also depend a bit on how jacked up you could be and still do your job, if you can make money from bed then it may not be a necessity for you.

I had short term, and long term...they didn't pay me for long term though...said it wasn't covered even though my return to work date was later than my recovery.

Short term saved my ... just make sure your Dr's don't screw up the paper work or you'll have to appeal and fight to get your money...

Got pretty high ADD, LTD, and term life.

ON a bike you're an idiot not to have it; especially if you have wife and kids that depend on you.

In my book, if you have people that depend on you and you don't have it, that is just plain selfish! I'll be dead, so who cares is a really crappy attitude to have!

I was a week away from getting hired on full time, thus getting short and long term disability. I never even thought about purchasing it myself. My companies always offered it as part of my benefit package. Wouldn't you know that luck would end up cornholing me with Ben gay.

In my book, if you have dependants that you are responsible for...riding like that is uncalled for. Insurance or not. $$$ doesn't replace a husband or fathers love.
