You can only get it from Austin if you need it now. Otherwise, it'll be sent via mail which probably would take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks.

Couldn't be better weather out there for a bike trip.

I know you can request a copy online for them to mail it to you. but not sure if it will let have enough to suffice in court.

thanks for the reminder though. hope it works out for you

actually......ordering online will still take at least a week. remember, you're dealin with the state here, they don't get paid to rush. even if they did, you think it would be enough to rush?

the court gives you plenty of time to get a driving record, that is one of the things you shouldn't have waited last minute. they usually give you the form to send in to get a driving record (when you ask for defensive driving).

even if you drove to austin, i'm not sure if they would give you one "on the spot"

good luck, you're pretty much screwed.

You're not screwed. You will however have to wait on your driving record.

Call the court.
Tell them you have your DD certificate, but are waiting on your state driving record to come in the mail.
Almost any court in Texas will give you an extension.
Ive been here before and they gave me an extra 30 days.

Worst case senario, they will charge you some extra $$ for the extension.

You're cool man, just keep a cool head and go talk to the man.

But go online right now and pay for a driving record. If you mail in the request form the court supplied you with, it will take 4-6 weeks. If you request and pay online it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks.

i know from personal experience ......i had to show my proof that i had taken defensive driving by a monday and crazy me, took it till that previous saturday givin me only 2 dayz i risked it, better than gettin a warrant ($$$) but anyways if it is Harris County you get what they call a "CUSHION" a time frame, some-what like a month as long as you show that you paid your paperwork by dat certain date you are fine, you will even get a court date in the mail sayin that you must appear before a judge and give a valid reason to why you were unable to make your deadline, pay no mind to that, your paper should be in by then.....i wuz 28 dayz late and no questions asked when that time came, thank you have a nice day, is all that was said....dont belive me i still have that paper work to show it ...just in case it is still pending....keep all your citations in file specially if they are dismissed, no fun bein in the hole for 3 hours for a "misunderstanding"

You have to mail in for it from Austin and there is no way you can get it by tomorrow.

Your SOL. You can go in and tell the court that you didn't have time to take DD, and pay the difference of the ticket you haven't paid yet. You could ask for an extension but most of the time they will tell you TOUGH ISHT and you'll have to pay.
