Racing 250 Endurance questions

So I had some questions about racing the 250 class with CMRA. I assume all the different teams own a few bikes and share costs right? Is it difficult to put a team together and race? I've heard this class is the cheapest, and I'd really like to get into racing, and it seems that being able to split the costs with at least 2-3 other people would make it very doable.

Licensing costs aside what do most people end up spending to race one weekend?

let me clarify that I'm interested in what it costs when you have a team to split with. You looking at $500 per weekend/ person? more or less than that?

The mini endurance race costs $40 per hour (for the team, not per rider), so that's easy math. The 250's are easy on tires and I've heard of teams lasting all reason on 1 set if you don't count rains. Most will run about 2 hours on a tank of gas at a race pace, so depending on the fuel you use, there's that. Then it's the bike, spares, and repairs and the regular costs of a race weekend (entry, lodging, camping, food, etc)

I raced a 250 last weekend and it was a blast. I'd probably do it again given the opportunity. And there's a couple of nice race bikes up for sale now that the season is over. I see a couple already set up for racing, with spares for under $4000. One of which I know from experience last weekend was wicked fast for a 250.
