Recursion

TY Motobot

http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-...ght/23873.html

Quote:
SUZUKI is expected to unveil this turbo-charged 588cc parallel-twin at the Tokyo Motor Show next month.

Called the Recursion, it's said to make 100hp at 8,000rpm with peak torque of 74lbft at 4,500rpm, overcoming the poor mid-range problems associated with early turbo systems.

The concept weighs 174kg and offers 50% better fuel economy than a sports 600, according to the specifications.

The engine is a parallel twin OHC with two valves per cylinder and a turbo intercooler positioned under the leather seat.

The Recursion has a carbon monocoque seat cowl and a touchpad notebook computer. What you’ll need that for is unclear.

The styling is described as ‘neo café racer'.

Details on the concept emerged in a video of a presentation in Japanese, with Suzuki branding, posted on YouTube.

The Tokyo Motor Show starts on November 23.

"touchpad notebook computer" = concept bike.

It means they didn't want to build an actual cluster so they hopped up a datalogger dashboard

Also, the managed to make mirrors IMPOSSIBLE to use, bravo!

Not to say I don't like the turbo twin idea.

I like it. 60-70mpg, same power and torque specs as my VStrom, but 150 pounds lighter (dry weight...probably closer to 200 wet). This little fella will need a wheelie nanny.

*edit: It has the same max torque as my Vee but get there 2k RPM sooner.

Good looking concept, I've always wanted a turbo bike but without the midrange lag which supposedly this fixes. I'm in for a test ride.

Mid lag is dependent on boost and engine compression. If you run low boost you can run stock compression and the engine performs just as a na setup would off boost

Nahh... Ford was using "Ex" prefixes. Their next 1-ton SUV was gonna be the "Excrement" before the Great Recessison killed it.

I'm really digging the idea of this bike. Hey, Bluewave....what's the life expectancy of a bike turbo...this one in particular assuming everything is left stock?
