Unhappy Near Miss - 10/29 ~~8:45AM - W Loop Feeder

While I was heading into work this morning, some lady almost ran me off the road.

Before you say, "Typical Tuesday Morning", let me tell you what happened.

I commute from US 290 & Barker Cypress Area.

Rode the HOV into the Northwest Transit Center.

After the Northwest Transit Center I went on North Post Oak, which turns into I-610 (West Loop) southbound feeder road.

After I passed up Woodway, I was in the middle lane, and some lady (20-something) eating a breakfast taco in the right lane, swerved into my lane with no turn signal (obviously didn't even look)!

I quickly swerved into the left lane which merges with the middle lane. Luckily, I had room to maneuver.

I get behind her and honk my horn, and she looks at me as if I am in the wrong. Or if I "rudely" interrupted her meal, lol.

I shrugged my shoulders and said to myself "forget it", and rode into work.

Anyone experience something like this lately?

Was in the right lane riding down dowling st in 3rd ward coming home from the office yesterday.

Cruising @ 35/40mph, zero other vehicles around me. I see some obese black in a gas station parking lot heading for the exit, she never turns and looks left at the oncoming traffic she was about to pull out in front of. Looking right the whole entire time she pulls all the way out and stops with her car completely blocking the right lane that I was in and waits for the traffic in the far lanes to clear so she can merge in and finish making her left.

I had plenty of time to stop but I was still and laid on my little horn and started yelling at her and shaking my fist. She just turned and glared at me like it was my fault.

That just sent me into rage mode and I whipped the bike behind her vehicle and kicked the out of it when I went by. Not proud of that, I usually control my road rage much better but I am still a noobie street rider and haven't gotten comfortable with every mother fcker on the road trying to kill me yet.

was a spitting image of Rachel Jentael from the zimmerman case

Dang can't edit posts on this forum?

Just wanted to add that even though I was able to stop my bike in time she never even glanced once in the direction of oncoming traffic, if I had been driving my truck instead of riding I would have without a doubt t-boned her right in the drivers side door before I could stop, she would have been seriously injured or dead.

Pretty much. Fairly regularly. Not daily, but when you ride daily, it happens a lot. Generally, haven't noticed it more on Tuesdays though

Near misses...here's mine...

Riding up Hwy 6 and I am approaching a strip mall entrance...old geezer and I make eyes ontact (he is coming out said "entrance"...sees me and accelerates to "scare" me. fool just about pulled out in front of me. I pass, no gesture or anything made to him, other than a good high speed weave around his front bumper. The a-hole pulls up to me at the light and said.."hey dumb , I was not gonna hit you." I don't even acknowledge him...at the next light is a Sheriff Officer, Me and the old geezer...again heckling me. I put the side stand down, walk up to the officer's car and make a complaint. Old man accelerates off at a high rate of speed and the chase is on! The old man geta arrested for running red light and the issue of unsafe driving....lol! Love it!

Daily occurrence on 610 in the galleria during the afternoon......as long as you ride defensively you can avoid most of it. Still make sure to give them a swift kick to the door just to make myself feel better

I feel like a WOT swerve and pass usually gets people to realize they up, without as much anger. Horn people off no matter what, and door kicking(while effective) seems a bit much.

Wow, I noticed that a lot of drivers seem to have a "self-entitled right-of-way all the time" type of attitude lately.

I'm not that gutsy to kick in doors... may tap the side of the car with my hand, though

Best possible thing and the ONLY thing you can do , Just keep calm and carry one riding--keep a cool head, You'll start to realize as time goes on the amount of -holes we have driving. 249 to 45 then 45 to Fannin St downtown is ALWAYS a classy ride. I have to do a lot.

I wouldnt reccomend this I love riding motorcycles, and try to always look for them. there have been occasions where I have not seen or heard a bike coming up on me and I made a move which should not have been made( it happens). Im cool with being told Im #1 or shake your fist at me. I am always apologetic as Im a rider as well. If you kick my car or hit my mirror off you will be laid out on the street while I explain to the popo that you litterally scared me into jerking the outa the wheel and running you over. It would be the truth kinda.

Lately?

Yeah - i'm gonna call that a typical Tuesday morning.

I had one douche in a Lexus ES try to tell me I had no right driving on the same road. Pulled up right next to me and yelled at me for passing him and startling him into spilling his coffee....
