It finally happened

Ive been riding for a couple years now off and on, Ive always tried to ride defensively and follow the rule of they can't see me. On my way to work today i was cruising at 35 mph just enjoying the great weather, I pass through the intersection and see a truck about to pull out of a shopping center to my right, at 1st I thought he was going to turn right so I stayed in the left lane. Then I started to slow down just to be cautious. Next thing I know he goes straight across 2 lanes off traffic trying to go the other direction. I tried to slow down but it was too late, BAM! bike slams into the drivers door and I get thrown into the rear passenger door. Im ok just some bruises and soreness, I guess ill know for sure when I wake up tomorrow. The driver was an elderly man who was very sorry for the whole incident and made sure I was ok. He mentioned that this was his 1st accident and he turns 60 in a couple of days. He said he looked the other way and never even saw me. Another elderly guy stopped and said he saw the whole thing happen and would be a witness if I needed one. Yes I had on a helmet and gloves, thank because I did go head 1st into the truck. My bike is messed up as you can imagine I was able to ride it about a mile home. Now here comes the insurance part, so far everything seems to be going ok because the guy said its his fault. I have always heard the saying that its not a matter of if your gonna go down but when. This was my 1st and hopefully last incident.

Here are a few pictures, bike doesn't seem to have that much damage, fairings of course are jacked from headlight housing, clutch lever and some other scratches. Gonna have the insurance adjuster come out then probably take it to Motorcycles Unlimited to have it completely looked over. I did notice that when I started it up after the accident a bunch of black smoke came out of the exhaust and it appears that some sort of liquid was on the ground but I haven't seen any under my bike yet. Maybe it was there before the accident or its gathering somewhere else.
