Auto zone, oriellys or cycle gear should all carry it. Just call and ask

Cycle Gear's rim tape is the worst tape I have used. Buyer beware!

I don't remember what brand it was, but I got some reflective rim tape at Cycle gear and HATED it. Granted, first time trying rim tape, but it didn't lay flat and wouldn't come off (tore) when you tried to redo it. Ended up with a not so perfect stripe and a bunch of tiny exacto knife scratches.

I've done four bikes so far and gave up on the CG tape and ordered different stuff. It is flimsy and wants to tear off at the slightest hint of pressure.

So maybe it wasn't just me. I've always heard how easy it was... but that tape made me want to pay a shop to do it. I thought "maybe I'm just more picky about it being perfect than other people are". Guess I need to practice a couple more times with different material before i throw in the towel.
I would NEVER try that same tape on my powdercoated Ninja wheels, or semi-rare oem Buell wheels.

PS. Spotted your (or your GROM) at Fry/Westheimer a week ago. 'hey honey, there's a GROM like i've been telling you about. No... that is THE grom I showed you on MH."

The tool does seem like it would make it MUCH easier to get a nice smooth curve. We used it, and can't imagine getting it right without. I'd look into getting one from someone who's already done their wheels (and hopefully didn't just throw it away). Maybe If you fail miserably at doing it by hand, buy the cheapest you can find that comes with the tool... and throw away the tape

Huh...then we live across fry. We've had SVs (red, black, grey), red 650r, and Buell Lightning.

Definitely get tape with the applicator. Much easier to install. What color do you want?
