I got rear ended today in my Z

Man I was .
I had just had the car washed after work and I was making a u-turn on Westheimer when a cop came barreling into the intersection. I had the green light. He flicked on the lights and I stopped but the guy behind me didn't. He smacked me in the rear. The cop stopped in the middle of the intersection, looked at me in the car and then the car behind me and took off. I managed to move the car to the parking lot to exchange information with the other party when an Allstate agent pulled in to tell me that the chased down the cop. The cop flipped on the lights just to get through the intersection without waiting. The cop was walking into a restaurant when the Allstate guy stopped him. Then the cop jumped back in his car and took off upon confrontation. The Allstate guy got his plate number and gave me his personal contact information. This is just BS. What a POS cop. Now I need a new bumper on my ride. The damage was minimal at best. If I wasn't so much of a perfectionist, I would have buffed it and called it a day. It has a minor crease in it.

The Allstate guy wasn't my agent. He was just a concerned agent that happened to be right next to me in the straight lane that the cop took off in. He had to stop to miss him too. He saw the guy hit me and that is why he chased him down.

CALL KHOU!!!!! This needs to be on the news! This isn't right and it's gone on for too long. Were you able to retain that agent's number? Call him and see if he would be willing to submit himself as a witness on the news.

Well, I called the IAD (Internal Affairs Division) and I have to come in to make a statement and then it has to be notorized. So it looks like I will be making a trip to IAD tomorrow.

I still think you need to call the newsstations right now. Red tape is not what you need to be going through. This is absolutely shameful! I just hope it isn't an officer that I know.

Well, if I don't get any action, I will go to the news stations.

It isn't like this is a federal case or anything. I wasn't hurt and that is the most important thing. My main concern is that I am paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Which means I can't physically feel of I was hurt. But my blood pressure would have shot up if I was due to autonomic dysreflexia. It sucks when you can't hop out to check out the car. I had to pull into a parking lot to assess the damage. I was worried that it was much worse. But it is very minor. I was more that the cop caused an accident from his actions of irresponsibility.

Ed, it was very minor. No metal damage to the car to speak of. I have fallen backwards in the chair a few times and this doesn't hold a candle in the wind compared to that. I think I am alright. We have looked all over my body and there isn't anything out of the norm there. If something were to change, I'd be in the hospital ASAP. I really would get AD if there was something wrong. I have in the past. Like when I burnt my leg on the exhaust. I had some AD then. But I feel perfectly fine.

it will work like this:
the guy that hit you, is at fault.
1. you collect from his insurance
2. his insurance will pursue the police dept, if they feel it is feasable.

I know you want the leo repremanded, but in this case it may be a waste of your time.

To me, it's not about the money. Mind you, I'm not rich. I live paycheck to paycheck but I wouldn't pursue this to make money. I'd pursue this because this officer is just not doing his job. He deserves to be reprimanded if he actually crossed those lights if there wasn't an emergency. He's an officer of the law. Doesn't mean he can make the law his.

I know youre saying "milk it" to recipricate on the leo for the wrong he has done you, in this case he may have been in the right, but what ever the case may be, the guy following Brian was at fault for not maintaining control of his vehicle.

remember carma, only somone when they have fooked you.
