***Update***

Jdub has surgery scheduled again tomorrow, midday. So tomorrow is still probably too early to visit, as he will be in an anesthetic state of sleepy. He is aware, and was humbled and happy, of how many people have expressed their concern and love for him. He is in good spirits, but in a good deal of pain still.
---

On the benefit, we met tonight in Pearland to discuss the collaborative effort for a benefit. It's going to be a MONSTER event, with people from all over the City of Pearland and his club, and just... man, the plans they're laying out. I hope like it's a good weather day.

It's going to be in early February; the organizers are still shaking out the date. The hope is that he will be out of the hospital by that time, or at least able to take an outside excursion.

In the meantime, his chapter (me, my President Chango, et al) are conducting the raffle portion of his benefit. Our plan is to purchase 3 guns. We think a carbine, a Glock and maybe a shottie, to raffle off for his benefit. What this will do is provide an immediate income source for seeding the benefit, and to help Jdub with any bills or anything like that. The $23,000 already raised will help him with medical bills and things like that.

The thing to remember about a situation like this is that while everyone wants to assist up front, and that is the best time to raise funds for him, this is a marathon, not a sprint. A year from now, he will still be on the road to recovery, so we need to raise enough to help him with his prosthetic, with his reestablishment into the workforce, etc. So the goal is to raise much more than $23,000, that can be rationed and used to assist him and his family during that reestablishment, over a longer duration.

Respect to all,

It wouldn't be a bad idea for his MC to try and raise some funds for Jason at the Lonestar Rally this weekend. Me & my wife would go but we have been caging for the past 2 years so we would be out of place in more ways than 1 haha.

It's no secret, he is Los Carnales. He is in my chapter, Bay Area.

Posted on FB, easier for me to paste than to type in my own hand.

SAVE THE DATE!!! Jason's Benefit will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Billy's Hall Rental from 2-10 p.m.

Billy's Hall Rental is located at 4070 Wells Drive close to the Pearland Recreation Center off Bailey Road.

There will be BBQ, mini carnival, live auction, silent auction, raffle, 50/50, bands, a DJ and more! To volunteer and assist with the event please contact us at: jasonwellsbenefit@gmail.com

Also, an account has been established at Comerica Bank for contributions. Please spread the word and let people know that in addition to the online Give Forward page, donations may be made to this account to help assist with his immediate needs (rent, bills etc.) Jason Wells Benefit - Acct# 1881652042

Also, be on the look-out for a new website coming soon!
Thanks again for everything. Jason and the entire Wells family appreciate each and every one of you! - Kristi

---

Now I'll tell you, that we are green lighted for doing the three gun raffle, and ALL of the proceeds for that will go to Jdub, aka Who Dat of Los Carnales, aka Jason Wells. So if you're going to make a contribution, you might as well have a shot at one of those guns, right? The raffle tickets will be $5 each, or five for $20. Any of you wanting some of that action, let me know via PM with your address, and I will mail you a SASE with the tix, you send back the stubs and the cash, and I'll drop them in the hopper. It's going to be a *gasp* assault rifle first prize, which we think will be the S&W M&P15 5.56 (the horror... the horror...), a Glock .45 second prize, and a Mossberg riot shottie 12 ga. third prize.

First prize is going to be a High Standard 5.56mm NATO M-4 Carbine. They're a Houston company, they already knew about Jdub, and they're making a nice deep discount.

I visited JDub on Sunday, and he seemed in much better shape and spirits. The first time he was coming out of surgery and he was just flat drugged out of his head and hurting, and he told me he vaguely remembered me visiting.

But he is certainly feeling better and able to visit with people now. So get off your butts and go see him.

---

Raffle Tickets are available now. PM your addresses and I can send them to you, with a self addressed stamped envelope, you just gotta drop it in the mailbox back with the stubs completed and the bux.

Adjustment to the raffle...

First prize was donated by Shield Tactical - http://www.shieldtactical.com

They're GIVING us a DPMS Oracle 5.56 NATO carbine. Free.

And with the money we had dedicated to buying a carbine for first prize, we went and paid JDub's rent for a month. So big props to them.

Second prize will be a Remington 870P Police Edition 12 ga shotgun. This is that nasty black synthetic shottie with upgraded sights and springs, and costs about $650.

This was donated by Cop Stop, 6831 Broadway in Pearland. DUDE! They are going to be selling raffle tickets out of their store, even accepting credit cards, and will cut JDub one big check at his benefit. And then for good measure, they went and donated...

Third prize, which is a Glock Gen 4 model 22 or 17.

So JDub's MC didn't pay anything for the raffle prizes.

I feel so useless...

Ummm, so we're going to be pushing that benefit on and helping him with more bills with what we saved.

I'll post the raffle flier tomorrow.

Yeah, it was a little old lady, and she stopped right there. He says he was running down the road and the next thing he knew, a little old lady was standing over him crying and telling him how sorry she was.

BTW, I went and saw him again today. He is improving daily. He says maybe a couple of weeks and he will be clear. He went walking today, out of the room, for the first time.

I posted the flyer on the "Jason Wells Benefit Page" on Facebook. I'll link it...
