I think Monday would be fine. They're just asking for a couple of days for him. A Monday visit I think meets their request.

I pray he heals up quick. I hope he can look at the positive side.. Still alive to be with friends and family. There are still people that ride with prosthetic legs...

Jason is going to have som PTSD from this and it's going to be hard for him. I hope everyone in his family will understand and know how traumatic things like these can be. His whole world just changed. I remember my day like it was yesterday. I was never angry at the other party involved. I was more angry at things and difficulties post accident. Sometimes I still get angry at certain things. If anyone wants to see what it's like for us that have had to go through PTSD, watch Born on the 4th of July.

Jason,
Your life may be changed forever and you may not think you'll ever be able to do some things but rest assured bud, the technology for amputees is awesome. You'll walk again, you'll be able to do everything you did before. When you go to rehab, you'll soon realize how many people have it way worse than you do. Right now, you got on by life. Cry, grieve and mourn. Remember that no one you love did this to you. So never take the anger out towards them. They love you and care for you. Just as all of us here.

@bdmpastx

Wow, that was profound. Thank you, and a big +1.

Jdub is well loved, that is a certainty.

---

Update, as I said earlier, there will be a benefit for him. This weekend we will be shaking out details. We *think* it will be a collaborative effort between his department and his MC. We're meeting tomorrow to shake out what his MC is going to be able to do (and it will be substantial, both in labor and in contribution), his department is meeting Sunday, and I'm sure they are also going to really go to the wall for him.

This is going to be a monster event, I'm fairly sure. I mean, with Michael Berry on it, a police department putting the word out, and a 600 man MC plus all the support crew of that MC behind it, this is going to be some kind of shindig.

I will post details here on what all is going to happen. Stay tuned.

If anyone wants to be part of the operations, let me know. Please don't feel any obligation... we're going to have a lot of club probates and stuff working, and we're going to have a lot of help. Just coming to the event and dining on whatever is served, being there and making whatever contribution you can is good, and well appreciated. But if you want to be a part of the event operations, I will take your number (via PM), call you, and we will discuss how you may be able to assist the event.

I'll be posting updates, for sure. I welcome others to as well, so I'm not the sole source of information.

I know his department has suggested a benefit about the second week of December. Today we (his MC chapter) hashed out our plans and obtained membership permission on some funds. An event like the one that is to be planned takes seed money and a division of effort, and we will be throwing some of both into this first fund raiser. But the chapter was of the mind that further down the road, once Jdub has healed up a bit, we will want to do a benefit from the LCLF Nation, where he can attend and be out with his friends and throwing back some beer. When both happen, I will post up so you all have the information.

Tomorrow our chapter president and I are going to be attending the first planning session with his PD (I'm chapter treasurer, and Chango, Pres Bay Area LCMC, seems to value my advice on our finances). I will update this thread after that meeting.
