Yes. They are only taking the Yamaha franchise license and will be doing some expansion to their facilities to accommodate the new line.

There was an easy solution from the start: Ebay search a clean clear blue title frame for the model bike

Guess I could explain what ended up happening

Bike essentially is free, yes. I don't owe a dime on it. But the way yamaha does it's financing.. It's not like you are buying a car. The car isn't the colateral for the bike. I mean, it is, but it's kinda weird how it's done up.

Katy yamaha finally sent me some tags about a week or two after i bitched all over the place, I think the GM at WW got my number to another owner of katy yamaha, and got them to do it. However, by that time i had already applied for a lost title. Because I had the contract for the bike, It clearly showed I owned it, and by contract i mean the bill of sale. Which is all I needed. they didn't ask for financing paperwork or anything, I am assuming that's because they just don't care. After about 3 weeks, i had a clean pretty title. I called the finance comapny back a few times, even AFTER they said they didn't have it, I still tried to persuade them otherwise. They refused to listen. so I have a title, and they are still waiting on the paperwork from the yamaha dealership. It's a weird fluke that I didn't want to take advantage of.. but at the same time I wanted to ride the bike legally, so I had no choice. I do still owe money to the bank (GE), but if for some reason I decide to stop paying, or fight it a bit more ( because the contact is for the bike purchase ( which I already own )), I probably could get away with it. Either way, if i don't pay, they can't get the bike. Im going to keep paying because it's a deal i agree'd to, money, for this. All semantics, and legal stuff out of the way, Yamaha refused to help me in any way, the dealership was extremely unhelpful, and the finance company was even worse. The same 5 ladies work in this office, the supervisor crystal ( the only supervisor for ALL of yamaha financing i might add ) was useless, and she doesn't work on tuesdays, sat's, or sundays ( in case any of you ever need to talk to a supe about your loan ). all in all I hope eventually someone from one of these companies unerstands that I will probably never buy another yamaha product again. Granted, im just one person, but still. I can understand why yamaha won't help, they already sold the bike, and got invoice for w/e the dealership paid, the finance company doesn't care, because the dealer had already " marked " it as sent, they probably won't even notice until the day i stop making payments, and even then id bet they would still try to come get it.

The ONLY help I got throughout this entire nightmare beleive it or not, was the texas department of transportation, and my local clerks office, who helped me file the lost title, and told me what to do, how to avoid some things, and waive some fee's for my troubles. good job TXDPS

Anyhoo, rant over. to answer the question though, yes, I got my 7500 dollar bike for freeeeeeeee

well stop paying for it, otherwise it is not really free. I do admire your integrity and the hoops you have gone through to do the right thing. Truly impressed

Are you sure it was TXDPS? The County Tax Assessor's office is usually the ones handling vehicle title and registration issues. DPS handles mostly drivers license stuff.

Regardless, glad to see there are still folks like you that want - and tried - to the do the right thing. I am not so much concerned about you taking advantage of the situation (you clearly are not trying to), only that you don't get shafted in the process. Cover your own and let the rest fall where they may.

Katy Yamaha also kicked out the mini gp guys for riding in the parking lot after hours. This made no business sense to me. Seeing how many motorcyclist went there to watch the little races. They lost alot of free publicity. The property owners/mgmt were completely cool with it. Hopefully you get it figured out I am currently fighting the same situation with a truck that was paid off with a local dealership.

Yeah, my understanding on how a lot of motorcycle financing is set up is that it's more of a line of credit (think credit card) than a collateral loan. That way legally they can still come after you for the money even if the bike is "stolen" (crashed), "stolen" (parted out), or actually stolen. They don't want a crashed bike back when a borrower stops paying. They just want your money. I'd be really curious to know if that's how your account was set up through them, and why they don't give two about helping you with the title issue.

I bought a new bike from them in 2011. Patty always treated me great. Sad to see them go under, but I love the idea of WW doing Yamaha now.

It's official. Wild West is the new Yamaha dealer on the West side. We purchased the Yamaha franchise only, not Katy Yamaha. If you have any issues or ongoing problems you might try the Yamaha dealer on fm 1960 or the Benchi store in Conroe.
Currently able to order OEM Yamaha parts. It will be after the first of the year before we are fully functioning as a Yamaha dealer.

BD, we get it. WW assumes no liability. But sending customers to other dealers seems like a bad decision. WW will find loyalty by taking care of their new customer base. Are you guys THAT worried of our confusion.

Id suggest open welcoming arms. Not the usual super smug, our customers are idiots, attitude I get from WW, lol j/k.

Why on earth would you want to push people to another dealership? Clearly if someone that needs a yamaha part and or a bike would go to the closet location..aka you in some cases. While it's clearly not your fault the other guys were borderline retarded you should welcome us poor mistreated yamaha buyers if anything to give the brand a good name. You do after all sell the brand in which you want to have a good name don't you ? If you get people in complaining about katy yamaha just make it clear you are a yamaha dealership....not katy yamaha. If the moron can't figure it out that's on him/her/it

Not pushing people to another dealership. Trying to provide an option for the people who need help resolving current issues with Katy Yamaha. Not being able to speak with someone is very frustrating.

I think he's talking about Katy Yamaha dealership issues. Maybe like what you went through.
