i thought i was going to do that last year but when i got there and there was a line of bikes a block long in both directions and the attending officer told me it was an hour wait to get into the line up, i turned around and split.
if you're going to do it, get there early and be ready to wait or get there late and prepare to wait.

I THINK you had to have a pass to park on the strand. but you can ride down it free. Beware... you act stupid, cops WILL be on you.
There's lots of free parking around the area, and several of the lots charge $5-$10 to park.... and RAKE it in, 4 bikes to a spot, then fill the aisle leaving just enough space to get through...

In general, be prepared to have no personal space for you or your bike...

I have heard from some guys at work that went, your bike doesn't move till its over.

I want to go, just don't know about being stuck after parking

We like to go early Saturday, stay till dusk. Avoids all the usual night problems and it is the day to go.

We also like to park in the gated lots you pay to park in; usually w cable locks through our jackets and helmets so we can keep them on the bikes. Feels more secure since there are several workers per lot; always someone around.

Im scheduled to work that Saturday until 4pm; so im not sure what the plan will be and if there is one. But if we do go, always a smaller group these days and we're coming from the northside.

In our group, we blocked each other in... so we could get out if needed. But yeah... there's always a chance someone will park like an asshat. I don't think it'd be that hard to find a spot that wouldn't get blocked.

I'd be careful... lock up and stuff. But I really haven't heard of bikes or gear being stolen. It was nice to be with cruisers/Goldwing that had lockable bags last year. Just put all our stuff in there.

I still need to find a way to lock a helmet to my Buell. I may mimick the "cable attached under seat" setup my 650r has.

It's common practice to not steal at the rally. They take down license plate numbers, run checks and look for easy targets... apartments, etc. I have a fold up plate. Bikes parked single vs a group are targets moreso.

Give it a couple weeks, you'll start noticing a spike in stolen bike threads.

I had a bike stolen, so I began researching and entrapping.

Hopefully consideration is taken and the festivities can b enjoyed wo any issues.

There's a hook under the back seat, slide the cable through that and put the seat back on.
