University police go green @ sjsc

It was only a matter of time. my suggestion is have a long pursuit route mapped out. better yet, don't give them cause to chase.

Basically cops on motards. On surface streets there is no escaping them. They have one of these Zero police bikes at Gulf Coast BMW. It is pretty cool.

Rode one at TWS (Texas World Speedway) and they are pretty fast off the line. Not a high top end but I was ok with that. They are stealthy little things.

Seems like the lights and siren would drain the batteries even faster, so you don't have to flee as long.

Seriously, I cannot see these as much more than a parking violation cop device, otherwise a mountain bike would be better suited for slow pursuits in technical areas (alleys and densely wooded areas) and a genuine patrol car would be better for a vehicle pursuit.
