Hello from Med Center Area

Hello everyone,

I'm a new rider located near the Med Center area. Took the MSF BRC two weeks ago and bought a 2006 Ninja 250 last weekend. Still learning, building up confidence, and fixing up the bike a bit (carb issues) before taking it out on the streets!

Nice community here - glad to be a part of it.

Welcome! 250s are great bikes! A good first mod for commuting would be a 15 tooth front sprocket see you around!

Thanks for the welcome!

Where can I get a new front tire mounted and balanced near me? All the recommended places are very far.

Cycle Gear is probably the closest.

Thanks but apparently I have to take the wheel off and take it to them. I don't have a stand so I can't do that. Any other options where I can just ride the bike to them?

Hello from Med Center Area

Where at in the medical center are you? You can use my stands if you want.

Edit: my front triple stand is bent but it'll get the job done.

I got a new tire at Discount Motorcycle Tire in Pasadena. They had a good price and I was more than happy to pay the nominal install fee since I don't have a stand to support the bike to take the wheel off myself.

It was a long ride (17 miles each way) especially since I took surface streets. However, it was a great experience and I got over some of my fears of riding in traffic.

Hope to see some of you on the streets. Be on the look-out for my fluorescent yellow Hi-Viz Arai... can't miss it (if it serves its intended purpose).

Few more photos attached.

Glad you got it sorted out. You'll see me on a red and black newer 250. Red/black helmet and jacket. Pretty distinguishable.

What was the installation fee? Did they have a wide range of brands to choose from and would you recommend them?

I live near Reliant, am new to the forum and would be ready for a med center cruise with some motohouston members.
Thanks!
