TORCS at La Marque photos

Heres a few pics as of now from the race at La Marque Motorsports Park from this past weekend. I want to give a big thanks to Grinchy for his spectating and photographic eye, and also for helping me get loaded up yesterday afternoon before the rain came.

This after just less than half a lap in practice on Sunday morning. I kept falling b/c it was so slick, I decided not to race, but then I decided to give it just one race lap at minimum just in case it got better

I finally hit the podium in the A class this weekend, I was stoked on Saturday when I finished up in 2nd, and then I was elated to find out that I finished in 3rd for Sundays race, I earned both places, both days were tough races, I seen a lot of crashes and had my share of them too.

Saturday 250A 2nd place
Sunday 40A 3rd place

What helped me most in the mud was the good ole KTM shifter came loose again, I was stuck in 4th gear with no downshifting, I was lugging everywhere but, it was smooth low end power that kept me from sliding everywhere.

The race was a load of fun.

Was the turn out great? How is the "track" ?

I hope things do well down there.

The turn out was "good" but, for a TORCS event, it was less than half of the normal participants mostly due to the weather, and the fact that most racers are in the Austin area, they didn't not like the "long drive" whereas us Houston area folks loved it, it's nothing for us to drive 2-3 hours to race with TORCS.

There was a lot of about the race location.

LMMP guys were great, the property is awesome, at least our course was, the ground breaking for the MX tracks should begin soon.

The only complaint (which is half assed) is that being an old golf course, there was concrete drive paths for carts everywhere, we had to cross them and they were slick as snot in the wet muddy conditions.
