I did not pay in advance. I paid when I got there while it was raining. Was I disappointed that the weather was sour... YES! But I was there with my fee paid and went at it. I left when the ice fell because I did not want to waste the rest of my day standing around hoping the weather cleared. That was the gamble I took. I guess that I lost that gamble but that is life. I thought it was a bad call to not close the track while it was sleeting but that is my opinion. Lesson learned and take it into account for next time. I particularly did not think it was the best of ideas to let level 1 riders out with the level 2 people simply because there was room on the track.

How did that happen? I thought when you register, you have to pay it.

Thanks. everyone should participate in her contests. I didn't do the one for this month to be fair to everyone but since only 5 people responded all bets are off. I will be competing in all future contests.

I paid in advance, rode and went home after three sessions. I had fun while riding but my gloves were not that great and the cold was getting into me.

As pointed above it is a gamble. Do I regret the conditions? yes. Do I regret leaving early? yes, but at the time it didn't seem it was improving and I didn't want to risk getting sick.

This was my first time with RideSmart and although I was not impress with the organization, I would not expect a refound from them. I do not recall any good weather waranty when I signed. It will be nice if they give a discount on futures events or even a T-shirt ("I went to a track day and all I got was a cold and this T-shirt"), but again I do not think they have any obligation. You paid for a track day, and the track, the cornerworker, the instructors and the ambulances were all there. Just my $0.02

what are the stipulation with other schools? Anyone?

As far as I know, its run...rain or shine. Every school rents out the track...thats non refundable...... they cant plan it any better than you.

Point is, people could run if they wanted.....no one had a gun to their head. I personally wouldnt run in rain period....thats just me. But I wouldnt be bashing Buck if I got rained on....or (cant beleive Im saying this) SLEETED ON IN APRIL...

eh.. my two cents...prolly not worth much.

that's only because (in ty's words) "he was praying for rain because i told him he could ride the 50 on the track if it does."

i'm with the majority....except....i lost an extra $50 on top for ty howard's class. when it was hailing and sleeting....that was it for me. maybe i can get the next ty howard class for free? doubt it, Ride Smart seems to be more about the money then customer satisfaction.

i know, i know...trackdays run rain or shine.....but it shouldn't run SLEET or shine. that was just asking for trouble. maybe if it snows, they'll sell us snow chains for our motorcycles. they might even sell you books on how to ride in the snow.

but everyone has their 2 pennies...that's just mine.

i'll stay loyal to Buck/LMS and possibly a few LSTD days from now on.

That was the deal you made with RideSmart, and you accepted that deal by paying your money. So, you didn't pay $135 to ride on the track that day, you paid $135 to ride on the track that day if the weather was good enough.

If RideSmart had promised you that you could go to a makeup day if the weather was not good enough to ride on that day, then the amount you would have paid for the trackday would have been more than $135. You got the cheaper price with the no-rainday term, which you accepted, so you can't complain now.
I didn't say anything about $$ or refunds - just that it should have been cancelled - what you are saying is NO MATTER WHAT the track day should go on - if it was hailing baseball size hail it should go on - makes no sense. As far as telling me I "can't complain" you need a lesson in the constitution - I'll complain if I want to.

"RideSmart's Last Event

Some of the worst weather in months converged upon the US in a stormy pattern this Easter weekend. Chilling temperatures and rain made for a very testing day. Most people chose to pack up and go home while some die-hards stayed until the end. By two the rain had stopped and the track was drying but it was still cold. "
