2006 fz6 not starting

I'm having a slight issue with my fz6. Whenever the bike is cold or has not been running for about an hour or so the bike will start normally. It has no trouble the first time starting it. I went on an hour ride on Sunday and when I got home I shut my bike off before I pulled it into the garage. For some reason when I tried to start her right after she just wouldn't start. The motor turns but won't fire. I'm baffled as to what could be causing my bike to only start while cold.

The bike has new spark plugs and a new battery for those wondering.

4k and u already had a valve clearance check? The problem to me sounds like the valves are too tight. When its hot they expand and the clearance is smaller/tighter and the motor cant get any compression to start since the valves stay partially open...

Not sure but thats what it sounds like to me....take it to Motorcycles Unlimited

To clarify, we pulled the head to remove a broken spark plug ineedasuburu broke while changing them.
We did inspect the valve clearance during reassembly and it was within spec.
The heat related issue could be electric related, possibly a pulse generator breaking down or clearance too tight.
I've seen it before on the FZ6's.

it may also be another issue altogether though since although the engine allegedly only has 4k miles, it was recently swapped into this chassis (not by us) which had been wrecked and had sat up for awhile.

An engine needs 4 things to run: air, fuel, compression and spark.
The next time it doesn't start try checking for spark.

Question for you, how long does it have to cool down before it will start?

I would say around an hour or so.
I would have contacted you Patrick but I kind of didn't want to bother you-all seeing as I already had you pick me up off 1960 to have my bike start when you-all pulled it off the trailer. I felt pretty stupid for that haha

No worries, always happy to help.
Next time it won't start verify if you have a good spark output.
