for real.

Great video to show the benefits of gear though: ducati rider is up in 2 seconds. Harley is down for the count

Hard to telp but it looks like the hd rider was a little too far inside to allow room for oncoming traffic.

Ducati was well over the line in several corners prior to impacting the HD.

Duc was riding like a tool. HD... can't tell for sure. If the turn was the opposite direction... same accident woulda happened with the duc cutting them like that.

As for gear vs no gear... both bikes were leaned into the corner... Duc rider just went down, the HD rider had a whole Ducati thrown/slid at his body.

I'd say Duc went wide and smacked the cruiser. Possibly got target fixated too. You can kind of see the the trail that the duc made on the ground from the slide.

Maybe...but my helmet save my head when I flew over the bars on westherimwr at 40mph...

Which PP is that?

That's a narrow road to be riding like that

I don't know about you guys but that road seemed to sketchy in the first place. Blind corners, small lane to ride with no stripe plus the duc trying to drag knee all equals a bad day. It look to me that the duc saw the Harley coming out of the corner and fixated on him making him go into him.
As for the gear Helmet will save you from some trauma to the head but full leathers really only help in a slide, the blunt force will hurt like a .

Also they are lucky the car that came up behind them was not hauling or else this could have been way worse.
