correction to my 1s post...I was BESIDES the handicap spot...not on side walk...I was in the spot next to handicap where a regular car would park. 100% legal.

[QUOTE=CBR500R_Mike;3668348]So today I roll into a local fast food burger joint that usually has 3-4 HCSO sitting inside drinking coffee and eating. No big deal right?

I park in the front in a non-handicap spot like any good biker would do, walk inside and I get harassed for parking there.

When I meant I parked in front...I meant in front of the place of business, in the 1 car spot that was not handicap. This is a 100% legal spot for car, truck or M/C to park. No striped area no side walk. Hope that clears this up. Sorry Forum.

I see what happened. He mistakenly thought it was a handicapped spot. Then instead of asking "why do you want me to move it", you just said "I'm going to get my food first" which him off. Sounds like a miscommunication to me. The sheriff's office is "out to get you" is a bit dramatic.

How certain is it that the manager of the place where LEOs hang out for lunch will prevent this recording from being overwritten and save backup copies for an abused random biker customer from his regular customers that are also LEOs?

I think the real issue is they were all eating at a fast food burger place! I would love to see one of them ever have to actually chase a perp down!

The parking spot was clearly NOT a handicap spot. There is NO way he could have assumed it was H/C parking. There was no sign nor blue wheel chair spot marked on the ground in the spot in which I parked in. BOTH a sign and ground painting are REQUIRED to be a legal handicap parking spot. There was NO Legal justification for the officer to question ...uhum DEMAND me to move my bike as it was in a legal car spot where any motor vehicle can park legally. I have the utmost respect for our local, county and state law enforcement officers and I will kindly listen to them. But the rap of bikers, just because of a few bad ones, is not going to give them 100% justification because I was riding a sport bike to harass a 100% legal rider parking in a legal spot. He had NO right to disturb me. There was no emergency nor any reason for him to question me. I have run this scenario by my friendly DPS officer neighbor and the officer that HCSO 100% wrong...just as if the sun rose in the west tomorrow...WRONG! Just saying (even my DSP friend) said there is a greater awareness to sport bikers due to the rap we get. That is straight from the top LEO in the state.

So get you some! ALL DAY-EVERY DAY!

Top LEO in the state, lol.

There was surely a miscommunication or misunderstanding on someone's part. It simply does not make sense for an officer to ask you to move your bike from one legal spot to another then get upset by you not doing it.

I understood the above statement as being all front row spots were handicapped except for the one you were in. So he most likely thought you were in a handicapped spot. Let's get those neurons firing and think about it for a second.

You said "let me get my food first" to a cop who thought you were in a handicapped spot and had you actually been in one that would have been a thing to say, which is of course how he took it. Most people without a chip on there shoulder would respond "Why should I move it?" To which he would tell you, "you are in a handicapped spot." "No it's not officer" then he checks and sees he is wrong and apologizes.

But in the mysterious space between your ears that modern science can't quite explain you thought he wanted you to move your bike a few spots over because he doesn't like your haircut or mode of transportation or whatever.

I agree there could have been an misunderstanding .. cop put the OP on the defensive when he touched him without cause. Anyone who gets in my personal space without invitation would put me on the defensive. Cop thought there was something wrong .. IE parked in handicap spot ... he could have easily stated "sir you are parked in a handicap spot please move your vehicle" .. not just move your car which is just an order to do something without having a reason behind it. Cop or no cop if you want me to do something justify it .. and do not touch me.
