1.25". Yes it messed with the handling. It turns in slower now. I am not too big into dragging knees. It's comfortable enough for me and good enough for my style of riding and skill level. Clearance is somewhat of an issue when it comes to speed bumps etc, but I don't mind scraping the belly pan as it is cheap to replace.

Best thing about it is that I can raise it back up any time I wish. It's your bike mang do what you want to it. Just remember to research and ask questions (which you are doing) and verify the data you recieve (answers like lowering is for posers hold no informational value while answers like loss of ground clearance and slowing steering reactions hold informational value). In the end do what you want to do to your own machine.

Happy motoring ,
Riaz

personally when I am able to get a busa I will drop it 1 inch and stretch it 6 inches. Most of my riding consists of commuting and since I will have the rc to tear up the corners well...ya know the rest.

No stretch, just lowered. My legs are short and I feel much more comfortable that way. Since I live on the water I have been out when the wind gust upwards of 30mph from a calm; plus my old driveway was gravel. I have already been down once like that when I was not able to compensate on my tip toes for the change in wind and the gust when at a stop sign been down again when I slipped on the gravel. So I lowered it and have not had a problem since. Plus I like it like that.

If I wanted to track I would buy a dedicated track bike.

Take the plates and lights off and only run it on the strip?
certainly you wouldnt be running races on public roads, that would be irresponsible.

are u a member of the hayabusa boards?
http://www.hayabusa.org/
I THINK Patrick is the one that lowered mine. It was Previously owned by Peter, I have since put in a 1 1/4" riser for the bars, scorpio alarm Full muzzy, speedo healer, Home made grills covering the holes. TRE, also down one in the front and up 3 in the back as i remember, again that was done before i got it. The gearing change is alota fun, How often do u really need to hit the 6th gear limiter, altho the tre does away with it.
