From what I am learning in my criminal justice classes what they are doing is illegal but police never really go by the book when it comes to simple stuff it seems like because most people don't know much about the law. "Got reports of sport bike speeding and weaving recklessly". There is no reasonable suspicion or probable cause that it was you weaving unlessssssssssss they knew what color the bike that was doing it. But pulling every bike over is not legit.

Yes it is illegal, yes they already know, no they don't care and will most likely get no grief over it.

traffic cops.

I was riding clean this morning on my new bike. Put the license plate from my VFR on so I wouldn't get pulled ( I was going to officially switch it over to the RC today) had insurance in my name, motorcycle license...and he wrote me for an obscured plate.

lol, pretty sure a wrong plate isn't "clean"

Maybe it's time to strip the fairings from the 650r... or start riding the Buell more.

I understand the whole ny bike issue but that's like the man getting calls saying "that there is a drunk driver weaving in and out of the lanes on ih 10 and the beltway" I highly doubt the cops are gonna pull over every car to check warrants and to see if they are under the influence. I think it's dumb but look at our president

Legal or not, the heat is on. Thank you Holywood Stunted Retards.

Rode past a stopped patrol car on 59 north HOV this morning. He lit up his lights and started moving, then slowed down and pull back to the side. My guess is he saw my big ol' Givi top case and figured I am not the squidding type.

For the next month, I'm riding with full-on luggage whether I need them or not.

Thanks NY stuntas.
why are you suggesting its only sportbikes that are being singled out?

there were dirt bikes, crusiers, 4 wheelers and motards all in that video

I love my HDs. Never get pulled even when I'm SO in the wrong. Last month I saw a constable shooting radar in a 45. When I went by I know I was over 70. We just waved at each other.

(btw, this is a flat, empty road where the only thing you'll harm is yourself.)[/quote]

I do 80-85 all the time on the bike and in the car. No cops bother me. In fact, I have them move out of my way and let me go, because they are only going 75.

Uh, sometimes cops call in speeding vehicles. My girl was pulled over driving her 2005 Honda Accord because it matched the description of one driving over 100 mph. They sent her on her way after a few questions

Makes sense. If you were legal that makes the stop illegal. Therefor there is no reason to stop at all.
