Thumbs up Anyone have a suzuki (or sv650) RR they'd like to part with?

Hey guys, Im currently trying to watch craigs/ebay for a MOSFET RR but was wondering if anyone on the local forum here had a good condition used thyristor (possibly OEM sv650) RR they would like to part with for a reasonable price, so that I can get my bike back on the road while I wait for the bigger and better RR purchase.

Regulator/Rectifier essentially... It is one unit on the suzukis.... I always had trouble with mine on my SV... I would get one off just about any GSXR...

Were they better on GSXRs? I have heard of those having problems.

I never had one go on my SV.

I hear they are... but Suzuki RRs have never been all that well known for quality....

My SV had one go and I put a GSXR one on it and haven't had any problems.

Personally, I'd just look for something like an FH010 or 012 on ebay. The MOSFET units will last so much longer than the analog units that die from heat.

thank you guys, a mosfet is in fact in my future was hoping to obtain ANYTHING locally for the weekend my dad is in town and i wanted to go riding with him.

at any rate i was moving it from its shady tree w/ tarp to the shed, and just for grins i tried to fire her up, lo and behold the turned on so i grabbed my voltmeters to check the lil and everything is within spec according to the service man (perfectly in spec i might add), not to mention it will turn on then off,,,,then on again! (once more) maybe she's not mad at me anymore...who knows

so i dont know what to do, ride it til it strands me again? probs

So mine did that periodically where the dash wouldn't even come on especially after a ride. It turned out to be a bad ignition switch..you should check yours. The plug is under the airbox and you can look up the wiring and jump the appropriate pins the next time it acts up to see if it is a faiking switch.

Back on a GSXR!!! 08 600

I put 20,000 miles on an aftermarket one I got off Ebay. Held up great. OEM only lasted about 8000 miles.
