Rider Down 610 / Port of Houston Exit

Rider down ... 5-0 was chasing 4 bikes and it looks like a black Kawi hit a dead end they didn't realize was there and almost took a dive down the embankment. Cop has rider in back of car so they are alive if you lost someone when running.

I was driving back into the port to go back to work and I see a white charger and a bike down at a 90 degree turn. I saw the car backing up and I thought it was gonna be a hit and run so I blocked it in. When the car turned I saw the ghost markings. Cop got out and told me what went down. I thought I was gonna have to use my bull bar and bang up a charger. Turns out someone routing decided to run in unknown surrounding and almost killed themselves. A few more feet and they would have flew and hit a drop landing right in a lane of traffic on 610. They should thank the muddy grass for sure.

Maybe we can get Fresnal in here to say what will happen to the rider for evading.

Just so more people know what can happen to them if they keep running from the cops.

I have been stopped a fee times for speeding. The cop usually thanks me for pulling over and give me a warning.

Yep, I was caught doing 93 in a 40 MPH (55 zone) curve. The cop was going the opposite direction. I could have tried running. He loved that i was sitting on the side of the road, waiting for him to turn around and come back. He reduced it to 65 in a 55.

I can tell you exactly what will happen

1) Go to jail
2) Get charged with Felony Evasion with a Motor Vehicle
3) 5,000 bond to get out of jail
4) Go before a Harris Co judge to have charges explained
5) Grand jury determines whether or no to indict you (charge you with Felony or let you walk)
6) Once indicted, its many legal avenues to pursue to possibly mitigate punishment and possible jail time.

Plan on a minimum of 6 Thousand dollars to wind up with probation and probably some county jail time.

I do not think people realize that running on a bike is a Felony. Bad news.

I think for a first time offender its a class a misdemeanor.
