bought a new headlight bulb and it doesn't fit right

I bought a new headlight bulb, its the correct one and it fits good but the spring mechanism latch doesn't keep it seated fully and wiggles. Appears that there is some sort of black piece that the bulb plugs into first. The bulbs I had before were silverstars and had this built into the bulb. Not sure what to do now. I am about to return this bulb to walmart tomorrow, and then go to NAPA or oreillys.

^ Yup.

It looks built in, but isn't. I just did that last week on my 650r.

Unless someone found some weird bulb that wasn't supposed to be OEM.

ok so thats my issue though here, does anyone have this black section/adapter? I threw out the factory bulbs when I installed my Silverstars, and the silverstar and the stock ones are long gone...

Call around the the used parts shops and see what they got. Otherwise you'll just have to hit up ebay or oem.

Is this adapter common on many bikes, or a 650r thing? i didn't find them on ebay.... probably because everyone parting them out throws them away

Sucks that you threw it out before plugging in the new bulbs
