yes its required, and it must be white. plate must be visible from 50 feet away or something like that.....

How about I got rid of my license plate light on my 1000 and I got a ticket in pure daylight for not having it. It was dismissed but I still had the trouble of going to court and all that...
I think I am going to leave the one on my busa.

When I got pulled over for my plate the officer almost gave me a ticket for the light (it was 8:30AM). I had to point it out to him.

Christmas tree lights on a bike....lol. I just got my bike inspected last week... According the checklist the inspector used, a licence plate light IS required. However, in my case he only checked for reflectors. I don't have light...but will look into getting a LED to do the job.

i dont have a light, and ummmm if someone was behind you likea cop his headlight will shine on the plate anyways so he can see.......i guess the cops never hassle me about it.

Yea i don't have a light on my bracket. all i have is a mmm seceret plate deal LOL. but the X mas Light is GANSTA!!! i know what i'm doing this weekend! LOL. jsut playing. i'm a go and get me some screw lights .

+1 igf a cop is behind you and they shie there light on you they can't tell. i've never ever had one hurase me for that, but they have for the location of the inspection sticker. and to that i say its near the rear and thats the law and the smile( cuz me out under there breath) and say have a good day ser. LOL
