da faq? Need more info than that...lol. To turn over, it just needs a good battery and starter. (as long as it isn't locked up.) can you turn the engine over by hand.

Maybe you should start with something a little more on your technical skills level, something running. Im sure if you take the right attitude and show some respect there would be someone on here willing to help you out, but you are in over your head from what I can tell. Best of luck to you.

Slaty while you might be right about me being in over my head, this site was made so that people with my lack of experience can get information from people who are more experienced

I am no expert but .. here is the basic ideas you need to track down.

1) Is the battery good?
2) Is the starter good?
3) Pull a spark plug and check for spark. This can be done by plugging the plugging the plug into the plug wire and attempting a start while it is close to a grounded screwdriver. The spark should be blue in color.
4) Is your spark plug gapped correctly? Spec should be somewhere online.
5) Check to make sure air filter is free from debris.
6) That bike will be carbureted. Since it has been sitting up the carburetor will more than likely need a cleaning or maybe a full rebuild. If you have never taken a carburetor apart for maintenance you should probably not undertake that without someone who has and knows what they are doing. There are alot of little o-rings, springs, washers etc to keep up with... so if you don't remove them all before spraying it with carb cleaner, or blowing with compressed air you lose those components and you won't know why it isn't working.

Getting the fuel/air ratio dialed in on the carb is pretty important. The magical starting point is 2.5 turns out.

Engines run on 3 things.... spark, air and fuel...

get a service manual, go over all the safety cutoff switches. i'd start with kickstand and front brake switches, then check start/kill switch.
