Distinguished Gentleman's Ride - Sunday 9/29

1010827 10152990443250162 1296229246 n

Hey guys, if you're looking for something different to do, we have the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride coming up this Sunday. We're going to get dressed up and ride around in the Heights area visiting local establishments for food, drink, and even pipe tobacco. This is our second year to do the ride, and most of you who are familiar with the Euro bike night at Shepherd Park will know the people behind the Houston ride.

To sign up for the ride, you can either visit the international site at www.gentlemansride.com, or check out the local ride page on facebook.

The ride is to benefit prostate cancer research, and if you're interested in helping to raise money or wish to donate you can sign up for your own rider page at the main site, or if you'd just like to contribute without signing up, my personal rider page is http://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/Norrisjc .

This is going to be a good time for a good cause, and I encourage all of you who can to dress up and ride out.

It was a great time last year, and we expect it to be pretty big this year, as I seem to recall we had somewhere around 50 participants last year in total, and there wasn't a whole lot of advance notice or advertisement.

Also, if I remember correctly, they've worked out a deal with our last stop for something like $1 beers.

If you visit the facebook event page it has the full itinerary posted. It was just updated in the last couple of days, but I can't access it here at work to copy/paste so you'll have to do a little work yourself.

Across the globe on Sept. 29th we spend the day riding the world in a distinguished manner spreading merriment along the way. See the website for full details: http://www.gentlemansride.com/ and join the Houston ride on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/555308331182609/
It is an all day event, so if you can't make the starting point just check the itinerary to figure out where to meet up along the way. Also, this will happen RAIN OR SHINE.

Hmm, maybe that and a wood pipe would be enough to pull it off.

Since i clicked on every link pertaining to dgr i know there is not a tshirt for the event. Something about stickers n patches only.
However, under dgr google images, i did see a distinguished gentleman's tshirt. Perhaps from another state/country from some yr ago.
I could be wrong.

I don't know if they'll have shirts available, as even the patches/etc. were not supposed to be available until after the ride. However, if you want to just make a donation, I believe they said the rider sponsor pages would be up until sometime mid-October.

It turned out to be a great day, and the ride somehow managed to stay rain-free. Thanks to those of you who came out in support.
